Last summer, Marvel Studios dominated the movie theater popcorn bucket scene, particularly with their Deadpool & Wolverine buckets (though Dune’s popcorn bucket certainly gave them some tough competition). Next month brings us the first Marvel Studios popcorn bucket of 2023 when Captain America: Brave New World graces the big screen. Not surprisingly, AMC Theatres have designed this latest prop-like bucket to resemble Cap’s famous vibranium shield. It boasts a massive, collapsible 300-ounce shield that snaps into place. Additionally, guests can acquire a soft material Armor Cup and cover it with a lid, both of which mirror the shield’s design. Check out the first images right here:
Moreover, AMC Theaters is introducing a limited-edition popcorn named Firecracker Crunch for a brief period. This special gourmet popcorn features white fudge, red and blue popping candy, and a hint of raspberry flavor. The name “Firecracker” seems fitting as we anticipate a burst of action when Sam Wilson’s Captain America, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, and Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk engage in battle. It’s unclear if the raspberry flavor symbolizes the Red Hulk, but we like to think that’s our interpretation for Captain America: Brave New World.
It’s uncertain if there will be additional “Captain America: Brave New World” popcorn buckets, but it wouldn’t be unexpected to see some Red Hulk Hands instead. Remember those popular Red Hulk Hands toys from the past? Many of you likely had them as kids. If they decide to use Red Hulk Hands as popcorn buckets, it would be a fantastic tribute to those classic toys. Sam Wilson’s wings would also be interesting, though I’m not sure how that would practically work out. We can only wait and hope for more surprises. In the meantime, “Captain America: Brave New World” is set to premiere in theaters nationwide on February 14th.
