As a dedicated fan of Marvel comics and films, I am beyond excited for the upcoming release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which promises to deliver an epic showdown between two iconic mutants and a new formidable villain in Cassandra Nova, played by Emma Corrin.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited return of Deadpool and Wolverine is nearly here, promising an unforgettable experience for cinemagoers. This exciting installment doesn’t just bring back our beloved mutants – it also introduces a groundbreaking new character: Cassandra Nova, brilliantly portrayed by Emma Corrin.
Emma Corrin about preparing for Deadpool & Wolverine
In the trailer, Emma Corrin’s character Cassandra Nova is revealed as the primary adversary in Marvel’s sole movie coming out this year. Though much will be unveiled when the film hits theaters this weekend, Corrin has shared insights on her preparation for portraying a significant role among mutantkind.
In the comic book world, Cassandra Nova is well-known as the twin sibling of Charles Xavier, whose telepathic powers are famously depicted. To help the audience understand and connect with this telepathic brother from the comics, Corrin prepared by thoroughly examining Cassandra Nova’s portrayals in earlier works produced by Fox Studios.
“When speaking with Screen Rant, Corrin reflected on the two portrayals of Charles Xavier by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy.”
When getting ready for this acting gig, I pondered over whether I should immerse myself too deeply in Stewart and McAvoy’s portrayals. At the same time, I questioned my ability to authentically bring forth my own unique self on screen.
Regarding Stewart and McAvoy’s performances, Corrin expressed that they excelled in portraying mighty characters. She went on to say, “I was curious if I could incorporate any elements or show respect through my own role.”

Emma Corrin about Cassandra Nova in the movie
In an interview, Emma Corrin described the appearance of her character Cassandra Nova in Deadpool & Wolverine as remarkably faithful to the comic books. She added that the costume and her unusual fingers would perfectly capture the menacing look of the villain while also conveying a compelling backstory.
Corrin has additionally mentioned that the audience will catch glimpses of her connection with her brother, Charles Xavier, in the films Deadpool and Wolverine.
In the early 2000s, Patrick Stewart initially breathed life into the character during X-Men. Then, in 2011, he portrayed a younger adaptation of the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters’ head.
Deadpool & Wolverine will hit the theaters this weekend on July 26.
