As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for recognizing the ebb and flow of an actor’s connection to their character, I must say that Lucas Bravo‘s sentiment towards his role in Emily in Paris resonates profoundly with me. Having spent countless hours observing and analyzing the careers of various artists, I can confidently assert that such feelings are not uncommon.
Lucas Bravo is expressing doubts about the continuation of his character in Emily in Paris. The man portraying Gabriel on the Netflix show shared his feelings, stating that after acting out the part for four seasons and the narrative evolving, he seems to have drifted away from the connection with the character.
During a chat with Indie Wire, the French actor expressed his doubt about rejoining the series for season 5. He mentioned that although he enjoyed portraying the chef in the initial season, it currently seems less appealing and “not as enjoyable to film.
Explaining his thoughts to the media outlet, Bravo shared that the character, ‘The Sexy Chef’, was deeply connected to him during season 1. However, as the seasons progressed, they grew increasingly distant due to the decisions he made and the paths his character was steered towards. He emphasized that he felt significantly removed from this character now.
From my perspective as a devoted fan, in the storyline of Emily in Paris, Gabriel has been one of Emily’s romantic entanglements, portrayed by Lily Collins. Over the course of the series, their relationship has seen its ups and downs, but unfortunately, the last season concluded with Gabriel once more missing his opportunity with Emily Cooper.
In the continuation of our conversation about Gabriel’s character, Bravo expressed his hope that Gabriel would revert to his lively, mischievous, and spirited self. He feels that after three seasons of portraying a melancholic, sad, depressed, and lost character, it’s no longer enjoyable. After all, it’s a comedy, everyone else is having fun, and he’s just growing increasingly somber.
During a recent interview about coming back for season 5, the actor disclosed that his agreement finished at the end of season 4. Additionally, he shared that there haven’t been any opportunities for ad-libbing on set.
In the midst of various comments, the performer openly expressed his affection for the show, stating that it has brought him numerous chances due to the Netflix production. He concluded by saying, “I adore this show. It kick-started everything for me. I admire both the show and its cast. To express my feelings, I don’t think I come across as polite or grateful, but when you cherish something, you yearn for it to be… you long for its best possible form. Let me be honest; there have been moments when I’ve felt agitated with how my character’s storyline is unfolding.
All episodes of Emily in Paris season 4 are available to stream on Netflix.
