Emily Bett Rickards Is Open to Returning as Felicity Smoak in ‘Arrow’ Revival: “I’m not doing it for Arrow or really the fans.”

After a 12-year run with different formats, the Arrowverse concluded in 2024 when the last episode of Superman & Lois aired. Even though this fictional world evolved and expanded over time, moving away from its origins, many fans still enjoy revisiting the early days.

The entire fictional world created as a spin-off from the “Arrow” television series lays a groundwork and establishes a benchmark for all subsequent programs. Even though “Arrow” concluded in 2020, there remains optimism among fans for a possible comeback, and conversations about it have taken place with the show’s cast members as well.

In a more recent discussion on a podcast, Emily Bett Rickards expressed her enthusiasm for a potential comeback, hinting that she’d be thrilled to reprise her role as Felicity Smoak. However, the reasons behind her decision are quite intriguing!

The conversation transpired on Michael Rosenbaum’s “Inside of You” podcast, where they delved into several topics, one of which involved the possibility of her coming back to the Arrowverse.

If you don’t catch the entire video, Rickards expressed that she felt proud of her character, saying: “Over time, things became quite chaotic, but I remain incredibly thankful for both Arrow and Felicity. I am genuinely proud of the person Felicity turned out to be.

She admitted that she felt Felicity seemed somewhat confused during later seasons, and wished she could have altered that situation as a writer, but she wasn’t one. Interestingly, she expresses a desire to reprise the role of Felicity and provide her with another opportunity, but her motive may catch you off guard.

She clarifies, “It’s likely. I plan to present flowers to Felicity, truth be told. There are instances where I feel Felicity could have spoken up more. I admire Felicity deeply, so this isn’t motivated by Arrow or the fans. Instead, it’s for Felicity herself! And as an added bonus, everyone else benefits from it too!
