ARC Raiders is shaping up to be a major game release in October, especially after a recent test event showed a lot of players joining at the same time. This is impressive considering the huge success of Battlefield 6, which sold over seven million copies in its first three days and has captured the attention of shooter fans everywhere.
Embark Studios is aiming high with their new game, and they’ve shared some exciting plans for the future. During a recent livestream, the game’s design director said the team envisions supporting the game for at least ten years with new content and updates.
That’s our goal, and it determines what kind of content and how much of it we’ll create.
The developer also chose not to share any plans for future content, explaining that doing so could lead to unmet expectations. They said, “It’s easy for those kinds of announcements to turn into commitments we can’t keep if priorities shift.”
I’m really excited about how Embark is approaching their new shooter! A lot of games in this genre force you to start over regularly, but Embark is trying something different – letting *players* decide when to wipe progress. It’s a risky move, but if it works, it could be huge for the game and help them achieve their ambitious ten-year vision for it. I’m hoping this voluntary wipe system will build a really dedicated community!
ARC Raiders is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 30, 2025.
