Elon Musk is facing criticism once more after a recent post about actress Sydney Sweeney sparked debate online.
The popular 28-year-old actress recently walked the red carpet at the premiere of her new film, The Housemaid, alongside Amanda Seyfried. Fans immediately shared their reactions online, and Elon Musk, who owns the platform X (formerly Twitter), joined the discussion by commenting on a video posted by Variety.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, initially shared a meme and a brief comment about a woman named Sweeney. The meme jokingly compared her physique to someone with back pain, implying she might cause discomfort, and Musk added the caption, “Can’t be easy.” This post quickly sparked outrage online.

Even after the criticism started rolling in, Musk just kept going. About an hour later, he posted another meme, this time referencing the game Diablo. It was a doctored photo of Sweeney, with the words “the eclipse” emblazoned across her chest. And the caption? He wrote, “Seems like this will be a contest for most double-stacked equipment.” Honestly, it felt like he was doubling down, and it wasn’t a good look.
People had different reactions to Musk’s posts. Some enjoyed the memes, but others thought they were inappropriate. A lot of people believed Musk was intentionally trying to get a response from Sweeney with his comments and pictures.
