King’s comments come after Schneider publicly criticized the Olympic opening ceremony in July. He was upset by a segment that included drag queens, which he felt disrespected Christianity.
Schneider voiced his disappointment on X (previously Twitter), stating, “It’s unfortunate to tell the world’s top athletes, I wish you all success, but I can’t bear to watch an Olympics that seems to disregard Christianity and openly honors Satan. I truly hope these Olympics garner the same viewership as CSPAN.”
Schneider also commented, “It seemed like I was watching men exposing themselves in public, or drag queens performing, rather than an Olympic event or a school board gathering.”
In the podcast excerpt, King disclosed that she didn’t have a close relationship with Schneider during her childhood years. Instead, their bond formed later on in life. As a kid, she frequently accompanied him to film sets, but she often felt ignored and faced reprimands if her presence disrupted the filming process. In her own words, “If I ever botched a shot or was talking, I’d get into trouble.”
It was a significant cause of conflict that the King found out King’s dissatisfaction with Schneider’s appearance was a key issue. In response, he made her attend a weight-reduction program when she was overweight, and later criticized her for not losing weight following an injury.
The king shared, “I’d begun getting inked even as the temperature soared around 108 degrees. Since my father strongly disapproved of tattoos and individual expression, I had to don sweaters to hide them.”
The monarch stated clearly that she sees no plans for mending their connection, expressing her desire to keep distance from him. She underscored the idea that though you can’t alter other people, you have the power to decide your reactions towards them and regulate your emotions.
