Elle Fanning stunned attendees at the 98th Oscar Nominees Luncheon on Tuesday. The event, held at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles, gathered the year’s leading actors and actresses for their annual group photo, and Fanning was among the most admired stars there.
The actress received her first-ever Academy Award nomination for her performance in the Norwegian film, Sentimental Value. She attended the celebration with the other nominees, wearing an elegant outfit that reflected her delicate and graceful personal style.

The luncheon was buzzing with energy as actors from around the globe celebrated their successes. Fanning enjoyed herself, laughing and taking photos with her fellow actors and other famous faces, all while cameras documented the event.

When the nominations came out in late January, Fanning posted a heartfelt video of a FaceTime call with the film’s director, Joachim Trier. She was clearly very emotional and tearful as she shared the exciting news with her family present.
She shared her stunned reaction on social media, saying she was completely breathless and in shock after receiving the honor. She also described how meaningful it was to have her mother, grandmother, and sister Dakota there to celebrate with her, cheering, hugging, and crying together.
In the movie Sentimental Value, Dakota Fanning stars as Rachel Kemp, an American actress who goes to Oslo to sort out a difficult family inheritance. Reviewers are praising her performance as her most emotionally resonant and accomplished work to date.
The actress has been incredibly busy lately, taking on diverse roles that demonstrate her acting skills. She recently appeared in the popular sci-fi action movie, Predator: Badlands, released in late 2025, where she played the challenging dual role of synthetic twins, Thia and Tessa.
She’s already booked solid for 2026 with a lot of exciting projects her fans are waiting for. This month, she’ll be debuting in the dark comedy thriller Rosebush Pruning at the Berlin International Film Festival.
The film boasts a fantastic cast, with Riley Keough, Callum Turner, Jamie Bell, and Pamela Anderson all starring. Directed by Karim Aïnouz, the story centers on a rich and troubled family whose hidden secrets begin to unravel.
Fans can also catch Elle Fanning in the new Apple TV+ series, Margo’s Got Money Troubles. She stars as a young mother facing financial difficulties who comes up with a unique solution, aided by her quirky parents, played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Nick Offerman.
In addition to her acting work, she’s finally achieving a dream of collaborating with her sister, Dakota Fanning, on a movie based on the book The Nightingale. They’ve discussed working together for a long time, and the project is now in development.
I’m really excited to see what Samara Fanning does next! She’s jumping into the world of big franchises later this year, and she’s going to be playing a younger Effie Trinket in the new Hunger Games prequel, ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’. It’s going to be fascinating to see her take on that iconic character.
With the 98th Academy Awards happening on March 15th, anticipation is building around her nomination. Even if she doesn’t win, being invited to the pre-awards luncheon shows she’s now firmly established as a major figure in Hollywood.
