Ella Purnell Shares Which Funny Part of Playing Lucy Bothers Her the Most: “You know how annoying it is?”

Ella Purnell, who plays the lead role in the “Fallout” series on Amazon Prime Video, recently voiced her dissatisfaction with one specific aspect of portraying her character, Lucy. The show, adapted from the well-known video game, chronicles the journey of a vault dweller named Lucy as she searches for her father in a world devastated by an apocalypse.

One of Lucy’s major struggles is losing a finger and subsequently having a white one replaced by a medical robot. During a discussion at MegaCon Orlando, Purnell expressed her frustration about the daily ordeal of having a “synthetic-looking” finger painted on her.

The makeup designer, Mike Harvey, playfully dubbed it the ‘poop finger’. This nickname became popular on set amongst the cast and crew, eventually finding its way onto the call sheets.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve grown weary of the daily grind of having to paint, scrub, and reapply my fingertip, all in the name of gaming. Frankly, I’m fed up with this routine and don’t want to risk any more digits getting lost in the virtual world.

In the upcoming season 2, the significant digit – which was crucial in season 1 – is anticipated to make a comeback. Following an unfortunate incident where Lucy lost her finger at the hands of a character named The Ghoul, she received a replacement from a robot. As the narrative unfolds, viewers can look forward to seeing more of this peculiar addition to Lucy’s character. Filming for season 2 started in November; however, no specific release date has been announced as of now. It is speculated that we might not be able to watch it until early 2026.

Purnell’s remarks indicate that although Lucy is thrilling with plenty of action on screen, it’s not without its off-screen difficulties, such as having to contend with the irritating “poop finger” issue daily.
