Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner & Miles Teller Shine in Gripping New Trailer for ‘Eternity’

A24 recently unveiled the trailer for *Eternity*, a romantic comedy with fantasy elements, directed by David Freyne. The movie features Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner, and will be released in U.S. cinemas this November.

The movie *Eternity* centers around Joan, portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, who experiences a peculiar afterlife. In this world, everyone has a week to choose where and with whom they’ll spend forever.

Joan faces a difficult decision: choosing between Luke, her initial love who died in war, and Larry, the man she eventually married and built a life with. Callum Turner portrays Luke, and Miles Teller plays Larry. The film also stars John Early as Ryan, Joan’s unusual guide in the afterlife, Olga Merediz as Karen, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Anna, who guides Larry after his death.

So, I heard about this movie through a script by Pat Cunnane and David Freyne – it actually made waves on The Black List back in 2022, which is always a good sign! Then, Freyne ended up directing it, which I was stoked about, and A24 picked it up, so you *knew* it was going to be something special. They shot the whole thing in Vancouver, starting in May 2024 and finishing up in early July, and David Fleming did the music. I’m really excited to see how it all comes together!

The film *Eternity* first screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7th, receiving positive initial feedback. It will then be the closing film at the Chicago International Film Festival on October 26th, before opening in select theaters on November 14th and expanding to a wider release across the country on November 26th.

Initial reactions to the movie have been good. Pete Hammond from Deadline praised its vibrant and visually appealing design and cinematography, but noted that the film feels a bit long in the middle and could benefit from some editing to improve the pacing.

Currently, the film *Eternity* has an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on reviews from 25 critics. Metacritic gives it a score of 64 out of 100 from nine critics, indicating generally positive reviews.

Featuring a sweet love story, gentle humor, and a thoughtful exploration of what happens after death, *Eternity* seems poised to be one of A24’s most endearing films this year, and the trailer gives a moving preview of the story.
