Bandai Namco has pushed back the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition to 2026 so they can improve the game’s performance.
Elden Ring shared news about a delay on their official social media page. Here’s what they announced:
We’re still working hard on #ELDENRING Tarnished Edition, but we’ve decided to delay its release until 2026. This will give us more time to improve performance. We know this is disappointing for those eagerly awaiting the game, and we appreciate your understanding and continued support.

Nintendo recently highlighted the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for the upcoming Switch 2 as the first game from another company to be shown off. As previously announced, this version includes the ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ expansion, plus new armor and ways to customize your spectral steed, Torrent. The good news is these customization options will also be available for players who already own the game.
Elden Ring is currently playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A special version, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 next year.
