In simpler terms, an early obtainable Ash of War, called the Carian Slicer, can be found shortly after exploring Castle Morne in the Weeping Peninsula’s south region. But, if you don’t often attack non-hostile NPCs, you might not get it until you reach Elden Ring’s Liurnia of the Lakes area. This Ash of War lets players spin with a suitable weapon (like a polearm) at a relatively low FP cost, providing an effective method for melee Area of Effect damage that won’t drain your resources quickly.

It was found out that Spinning Strikes aren’t just useful for taking down several foes simultaneously; they can also deflect Margit’s dagger attacks, as Reddit user Fail1ure discovered. The event transpired accidentally, with the player already in animation when Margit initiated his attack. To their astonishment, Spinning Strikes thwarted every dagger thrown.
