Bandai Namco and From Software recently unveiled Elden Ring: Nightreign, followed by hints about its initial post-release upgrade. The first update, labeled as Patch 1.02, is expected to drop within the upcoming week, enhancing the single-player aspect of this cooperative game for a more enjoyable solo experience.
In a week, there’s going to be an update called Patch 1.02 for Elden Ring on X platform. This update will bring several bug fixes along with enhancements for solo adventures. Although the complete list of changes won’t be revealed until next week, the official account has hinted at some significant upgrades for the Nightreign expeditions in solo mode. Post-Patch 1.02, solo players will have the ability to revive themselves once during a night-boss fight and also earn more runes (the in-game currency) while they play.
As a gamer, here’s my take:
Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news for us solo adventurers. We’re getting some sweet updates in the game soon:
1. From now on, when we face a night boss during our solo expeditions, we’ll get a second chance if we fall. It’s called “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat”. Only once per battle, though!
2. And guess what? The runes we earn will be boosted too! More runes mean more power in our hands.
Thanks for your continued support! Let’s conquer those dungeons together!

In simpler terms, Nightreign has reworked the critically praised 2022 game by From Software (the creators of Dark Souls) into a multiplayer-centric version. This new version encourages players to team up and tackle challenging bosses together. However, if you prefer a solo adventure, that’s still an option. Despite this, Nightreign is not primarily designed for single-player experiences, as noted in TopMob’s glowing review. Following Patch 1.2, the game should offer a more inviting experience for those playing alone.
The game launched with a first-day update addressing final tweaks to the game’s balance and alerting players about potential PC performance glitches. However, it remains uncertain whether Patch 1.02 will rectify those technical issues. Despite these balance, PC performance, or solo play difficulties, Elden Ring Nightreign has still achieved immediate popularity, with over 2 million gamers having played it on its debut day.
Elden Ring Nightreign is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
