Elden Ring Nightreign Wylder guide – how to best use Wylder’s abilities and stats

Among all characters in Elden Ring Nightreign, Wylder stands out for his versatility, boasting impressive stats across various categories. This flexibility allows him to effectively wield virtually any weapon you equip him with. However, he has a somewhat limited FP reserve, and his unique abilities make him particularly effective as a close-quarters combatant who can quickly pursue enemies and inflict significant damage.

Wylder attributes breakdown – ER Nightreign

In this game, a character’s traits provide insights into two key aspects of their initial abilities: their levels of health, endurance, mana reserve, and power, which are graded from S (highest) to E (lowest); and their preferred types of weapons they excel in using.

Here’s what each stat means:

  • HP – How large your health pool is.
  • FP – How large your mana pool is.
  • Stamina – How large your stamina gauge is.
  • Strength – How much physical damage you can deal, scaling with colossal weapons.
  • Dexterity – Proficiency with daggers, bows, katanas, and other fast weapons.
  • Intelligence – Your magical potency, impacting the power of sorceries. Scales well with weapons such as the Moonveil katana and Fallingstar Beast Jaw.
  • Faith – How effective your healing and holy incantations are. Scales with weapons such as Golden Epitaph and Erdtree Greatbow.
  • Arcane – Holy damage and death blight negation. Increases blood loss buildup for bleeding weapons. Scales with weapons such as Serpent Bow and Rivers of Blood.

Wylder abilities breakdown – ER Nightreign

Every Nightreign character possesses a pair of active skills and a single passive skill. These skills can be enhanced by specific artifacts, increasing their power. Here’s what Wylder has:

1. Active Skill 1 – Description
2. Active Skill 2 – Description
3. Passive Skill – Description

(This version aims to simplify the original text while maintaining its core meaning and readability.)

Passive: Sixth Sense

With this skill, Wylder can endure a fatal attack once, and the effect is renewed each time you reach a place of Grace.

Character Skill: Claw Shot

A hook device that either draws nearby minor foes towards you or moves you closer to larger ones. It’s also useful for swift getaways on the ground or pursuing agile enemies. When you secure an enemy with it, there’s a possibility to disrupt their balance, making them vulnerable to a series of powerful attacks. You can sustainably press and hold the activation buttons to manually adjust the direction for movement.

Ultimate Art: Onslaught Stake

A potent close-quarter explosion device, detonated by pushing a spike into an adversary. Utilizing advanced techniques provides immunity to damage during use, making them ideal for evading enemy attacks that cannot be dodged. The Onslaught Stake can also be sustained, resulting in a larger, more powerful blast. However, the only benefit of the uncharged version is it propels you away from the enemy, yet this seems unnecessary because you’re invulnerable while charging the attack. There’s a relic that can randomly drop, enhancing the charged ultimate by leaving behind a fiery puddle, making it even more lethal and efficient.

Wylder’s best weapons – ER Nightreign

Wylder excels at handling various weapons, yet I discovered that he’s particularly effective when armed with a greatsword. His impressive strength results in substantial poise damage, and his vast stamina reserve enables continuous combos. Additionally, he possesses a robust jump attack, especially when brandishing a large sword. For players who favor evasive maneuvers, dual-wielding large swords is an option for rapid combination strikes. However, Wylder truly shines for those skilled in parrying; he starts with a buckler shield, making him an ideal choice for such players.
