The latest update for Elden Ring, named Nightreign Patch 1.01.3, is now active across all gaming platforms. Although this patch addresses only specific areas for adjustments and bug fixes, gamers are expressing gratitude for the improvements implemented.
The adjustment in the patch primarily enhances the likelihood of acquiring weapons with a “madness-inducing” status. This “madness” condition can be accumulated and imposed on opponents, becoming exceptionally potent in certain scenarios. When an enemy is fully affected, they suffer substantial damage and emit flames from their eyes literally.
One of the playable Nightlords, Libra, is particularly vulnerable to Madness. This might appear advantageous for those aiming to defeat the goat demon, but players on the r/Nightreign subreddit express some reservations about whether this weakness will significantly impact their gaming sessions.
It appears that only a handful of items in the game have Madness effects, primarily being incantation seals and Vyke’s Spear. Moreover, not all enemies are susceptible to Madness. In comparison to other status conditions or elements, it seems like a limited number can experience Madness.
The user mentioned they obtained an incantation once, but that was all. They speculated that regular weapons might now occasionally have the Madness attribute, even if it’s primarily from Madness camps. Given that we can already get weapons with various other statuses/elements, they don’t think Madness should be so scarce since it’s particularly effective against one particular boss.
For many, it appears the most anticipated change is related to bug corrections, particularly one that addressed an issue where players would lose a fight after being revived from near death against a Nightlord or other Night bosses. This glitch seemed to cause frustration for those attempting to defeat Night bosses and had their revival features activated at inopportune moments.
“Happened to me like 20 times,” said one player. “Was like psychological horror.”
For Elden Ring Nightreign, several minor yet significant improvements are being made, such as enhancing the Whirlwind skill effect visibility for Guardian players who have a specific Relic. However, there’s still one highly requested feature that hasn’t been addressed yet.
Enthusiasts who’ve defeated the final adversary eagerly anticipate a solution to the unpredictable Shifting Earth occurrences. For those not in the know, Shifting Earth events may pop up unexpectedly and modify sections of the typical Nightreign map, introducing fresh mini-dungeons to delve into and hunt for treasures. They contribute to earning trophies in Elden Ring Nightreign, and numerous players across various discussions have shared their annoyance as they can scarcely occur after finishing the game.
As an ardent Elden Ring: Nightreign player, I must admit that while there are still areas for improvement in the game, the recent patch has made a significant difference in my adventures by addressing some quality-of-life issues. These improvements have undeniably eased my Nightfarer journeys to some extent.
Additional content will be coming shortly, since FromSoftware hinted at the arrival of updated versions of their current Nightlord lineup this very month, in a somewhat mysterious manner.
You have access to numerous strategies for defeating the eight Nightlord Bosses using Nightreign tips, and if you’re curious about how to unlock the two restricted Nightfarer Classes, look into guides such as “How to Unlock the Revenant” and “How to Unlock the Duchess”. Additionally, we have a guide on how to switch characters.
