To uncover more details about the Nightfarer’s history, make sure to finish the Guardian Remembrance tasks in Elden Ring’s Nightreign region.
In Elden Ring, The Guardian serves as the Nightreign’s Tank character. He stands out among other characters due to his avian aesthetics. Although he’s visually distinctive, there isn’t a lot of information available about this battle-hardened figure in the game.
If you’re curious about the past of this specific Nightfarer, you can discover more by finishing the Guardian Remembrance quests. Since Elden Ring: Nightreign employs a direct narrative style, each Nightfarer, including the Guardian, has their unique history that players can delve into by completing these missions.
How To Complete The Guardian Remembrance Quests in Elden Ring Nightreign
In Elden Ring’s Nightreign, if you recognize Remembrance quests, you’ll understand that starting one requires a Journal. This book holds the memories and histories of each Nightfarer. To discover it, venture to the Roundtable Hold initially. At the outset, there will be just one entry for every Nightfarer. Therefore, your mission is to collect Memory Fragments to unlock additional entries for the Guardian.
As a gamer venturing through Elden Ring: Nightreign, I gather Memory Fragments naturally by wrapping up expeditions and vanquishing bosses. Once I’ve amassed enough Memory Fragments, I can embark on the Guardian’s Remembrance via my Journal. This Nightfarer offers four distinct Remembrances for me to conquer.
First Guardian Remembrance
Of the four Guardian Remembrances, the first one is noticeably shorter and relatively easy to finish. But, completing it requires facing a formidable foe who will test your abilities. To learn more about this Remembrance, please refer to the guidelines provided:
The initial Guardian Remembrance, out of the four, is quite brief and not too complex to accomplish. Yet, it demands tackling a formidable adversary that will push your abilities to their limits. For additional information about this Remembrance, kindly consult the instructions given below:
The first Guardian Remembrance out of four is short and not too tough to finish. However, it needs you to take on a powerful opponent that will test your skills. To find out more about this Remembrance, follow the instructions provided:
In all cases, the meaning remains the same: the first Guardian Remembrance is shorter than the others and requires facing a challenging enemy while offering additional information through given instructions.
- Talk to the Iron Menial. Exhaust all dialogues to unlock the defeat a Guardian Golem personal objective.
- Start an expedition and travel to Limveld.
- Head to the orange marker on the corner of your map.
- Confront and defeat the Guardian Golem.
- Return to the Roundtable Hold. Speak to the Iron Menial again.
- Complete the Remembrance.
The Titan Golem is a formidable foe with significant strength. It’s advisable to engage it on your second day to ensure you are well-prepared for the encounter. Upon its defeat, you will acquire the Stone Stake. After returning it to the Iron Worker and completing the Remembrance, you will be rewarded with the Stone Stake Relic.
Second Guardian Remembrance
Instead of venturing outside as in our initial discussion, the Guardian’s second Remembrance transpires solely within the Roundtable Hold. This means you can skip a trip to Limveld for this specific task. Here’s how to finish this Remembrance: Follow the steps outlined below:
- Go to the objective marker and speak to the Spectral Merchant named the Visitor.
- Speak to him twice to obtain the Eerie Charm.
- After that, return to the central room in the Rountable Hold.
- The Guardian will then collapse to the ground.
- Once you wake up, find and kill the Merchant to protect the Guardian’s new flock. Also, take his ledger for a future quest.
- Complete the Remembrance.
It’s important to understand that there is no choice to let the Merchant live in this scenario. You’ll need to eliminate him, or else the storyline won’t progress any further. Following his demise, the Remembrance will conclude, and you’ll be granted the Guardian’s Chalice as your reward.
The Merchant can’t be spared here; you have to kill him for the story to continue. Once he’s gone, the event called Remembrance will end, and you’ll receive the Guardian’s Chalice as a prize.
Third Guardian Remembrance
As a gamer, I found myself delving into the third installment of The Guardian series, where the enigmatic ledger from the Ghostly Trader played a pivotal role. The Nightfarer hinted that this tome might be the key to uncovering additional accursed scrolls. This adventure would lead me back to the haunting lands of Limveld. To discover the objectives for this quest, I’ll need to carefully follow these instructions:
- Talk to the Iron Menial and show him the Spectral Merchant’s ledger.
- Start an expedition and travel to Limveld.
- There, go towards the orange marker and look for the Demon Merchant.
- Obtain the Cursed Volume from the Demon Merchant.
- Return to the Roundtable Hold.
- Speak to the Iron Menial.
- Complete the Remembrance.
To your surprise, Libra will show up where you need to go – rest assured he won’t assault you or sap your vitality this time. Instead, you can negotiate with him and obtain the Cursed Volume in exchange for 10,000 Runes. Afterward, you may choose between ending your journey or continuing it. Upon returning to the Iron Menial, you’ll receive the Third Volume relic as a prize for completing the Remembrance.
Fourth Guardian Remembrance
The fourth memorial event unfolds in Roundtable Hold, much like the second mission. However, this time the significance is amplified as you delve into the truth surrounding the first Guardian’s flock’s demise. To uncover the sad history of the Nightfarer, follow these steps:
- Read the letter the Revenant left on the Rountable Hold.
- Then, check the shelf in the study room. Read the book there with the silver highlight.
- Go to the garden and talk to the Recluse.
- The Recluse will reveal her involvement in the curse that killed the Guardian’s old flock.
- Decide between punishing and forgiving the Recluse.
- Complete the Remembrance.
If you decide to mete out punishment to the Hermit, the Protector will eventually opt for forgiveness instead. He’ll make it clear that his intention isn’t retribution for the lost flock but rather preserving the one he currently has. In this part of the story, your choice seems more of a facade. But once you finish the final Memento, you’ll receive the Witcher’s Pendant as a relic and the Protector’s Remembrance attire as rewards.
Or:
Should you opt for retribution against the Hermit, the Guardian will eventually choose mercy instead. He’ll emphasize that his goal isn’t vengeance for the fallen but rather protecting those still alive. In this section of the tale, it seems like a mere illusion – your choice doesn’t seem to matter much. However, upon completion of the final Memento, you will be rewarded with the Witcher’s Brooch relic and the Guardian’s Remembrance outfit.
To wrap up, finishing all Remembrances grants the Guardian a longer concluding sequence featuring the final battle. Therefore, this concludes our Guardian Remembrance walkthrough.
