To maximize your experience in Elden Ring: Nightreign, it’s crucial not to overlook the Shifting Earth occurrences. Though it may seem appealing to rest and halt these events, joining forces with your team and charging headlong towards the core of a Shifting Earth event could yield extraordinary prizes that might provide the boost you need to conquer any Nightlord you encounter.
Experiencing geological changes can seem erratic if you’re not familiar with them, but after understanding one, you’ll find yourself repeating the process consistently. Here, we will demystify each Shifting Earth occurrence and outline the benefits that come with each event in this comprehensive guide.
Shifting Earth, explained – Nightreign
In Limveld, significant geographical transformations occur across a whole district, due to seismic activity. This activity may ensue following the defeat of a Nightlord, and it will last for a while. However, resting at the bed in the Roundtable Hold can prematurely halt this event. Yet, I’d advise against doing so because Shifting Earth occurrences could yield extraordinary prizes.
The Shifting Earth occurrence promises a boost for your entire squad, enhancing their abilities in a particular manner. To claim this enhancement, you’ll need to venture to the core of the event, which includes the base of the Crater, the summit of the Mountain, the heart of the Rotted Woods, and the central chamber of Noklateo. On Day 1, it would be wise to scour as much of Limveld as you can, and then on Day 2, make your way to the Shifting Earth event for an effective expedition.
The Crater, explained – Nightreign
The Crater, a colossal pit in the map’s northern center, oozes molten rock. It’s hard to overlook and appears extremely perilous, but the allure of its treasure is undeniable. In this Shifting Earth event, you’re tasked with reaching the deepest part of the Crater where a challenging boss battle lies in wait. Navigating down requires careful navigation along the crater’s edge while seeking secure spots to safely descend.
When you reach the final level and defeat the boss, you’ll acquire the power to transform any of your weapons into a Legendary-grade item. If you already have a preferred weapon, this is a significant advantage that positions The Crater as one of the top Shifting Earth events for boosting your strength.
The Mountaintop, explained – Nightreign
To claim your reward, you should navigate towards the summit of the northwestern mountain on the map. However, be prepared for a challenging journey as the mountain has been split into two halves, connected by chains. You’ll have to put in some effort to conquer the peak and reap your well-deserved reward.
After successfully rising and overcoming the obstacles posed by the bosses, you’ll acquire potent Frostbite defense, along with increased ability to harm dragons. This will prove useful in vanquishing any remaining dragons residing on the mountain peak.
Rotted Woods, explained – Nightreign
In the southeastern region, you’ll encounter The Decaying Forest, a place that presents a distinct test. Here, you’ll suffer Scarlet Rot damage consistently, and even the foes inflict it as well. However, the area’s reward provides full immunity to Scarlet Rot, an advantageous trait for specific Incantations and this particular locale. Furthermore, striking back swiftly after being hit restores some health, similar to the mechanics in Bloodborne.
By heading straight for the rewards found within the Rotted Woods, you’ll find yourself in an advantageous spot to conquer the multiple World Bosses that appear there. The enemies in the surrounding vicinity offer a substantial amount of Runes and prizes, making it possible to spend all of Day 2 in this location. It will indeed prove beneficial.
Noklateo, the Shrouded City, explained – Nightreign
If you’re accustomed to the hidden urban landscapes found in Elden Ring, then Noklateo, the Veiled City, should resonate with you. This encounter is situated in the southwest region of the map, and boasts a substantial rear chamber reminiscent of Anor Londo’s iconic boss arena. Herein lies your prize, safeguarded by a formidable adversary.
In this scenario, you have the chance to recover from a single defeat, which could potentially salvage an entire campaign for your Nightfarers squad. Additionally, there are numerous World Bosses to conquer in Noklateo, although they may prove more challenging to reach and engage compared to those found in the Rotted Woods. Despite the increased difficulty, there is still a plentiful supply of Runes and rewards up for grabs here.
