Ed Kelce Recalls Hilarious Moment Between Taylor Swift and Late Girlfriend Maureen Maguire at Chiefs Game

Ed Kelce, father of NFL star Travis Kelce, recently recounted a heartwarming and amusing anecdote featuring his longtime partner Maureen Maguire and pop sensation Taylor Swift. This incident transpired in the autumn of 2023 during one of Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs matches, when Swift was still becoming acquainted with the Kelce family. The tale has garnered attention following Maguire’s passing at the age of 74.

Ed remembered the playful conversation during his interview with US Weekly, where he mentioned that he and Taylor took a picture together at the game. It was then that Maguire made a joke that Ed continues to find amusing.

Maureen playfully declared to Swift, ‘That’s my partner,’ in a mix of seriousness and jest.” Swift chuckled, and their exchange morphed into a heartwarming, suitable-for-all moment. “As it turned out,” Ed added, “we assumed a pose reminiscent of a father and daughter.

Here’s what happened the first time Ed met Taylor Swift

In a different interview for US Weekly, Ed Kelce disclosed details about his initial encounter with Taylor Swift. Surprisingly, Travis Kelce wasn’t present at the time. As Ed explained, “Before the game, he’s usually secluded with the team.” At any home match, you might find up to 20 people there, he added.

On that particular day, Taylor Swift, accompanied by security, paid Travis a visit. Ed found himself in an embarrassing instance of forgetfulness. He admitted, “I glance at her and I tell Maureen, ‘Wow, I recognize this child, but I can’t recall her name.’ Goodness gracious, what a fool I am,” he confessed. Maureen was swift to set him straight. “You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you dolt,” she retorted, as per Ed’s account.
