As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I must say that the latest rumors about the Guardians of the Galaxy appearing in Avengers: Doomsday have sent a thrill down my virtual reality spines! The MCU has been my go-to escape from the mundane world for years, and the Guardians are undeniably one of my favorite teams.
Over the past year, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” has shone brightly among its peers, earning praise from critics and raking in profits at the box office. Interestingly, some other projects haven’t performed quite as strongly.
In the third part, the team underwent substantial transformations: Star-Lord went back to Earth to strengthen his human identity, Gamora linked up with the Ravagers, and Mantis embarked on a journey to achieve her individual aspirations. During this time, Nebula and Drax remained on Knowhere, caring for the kids they’d saved from the High Evolutionary’s spaceship, which essentially meant the main group had disbanded.
The latest lineup for Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians of the Galaxy features Groot, Kraglin, Cosmo, Adam Warlock, Phyla, and Blurp. Rocket Raccoon steps up as their leader. Fans are excitedly awaiting to see if this squad will debut in the MCU, with rumors from Comicodigy hinting at a potential appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. The speculation further suggests that Star-Lord and Nebula may join them. Yet, there’s still uncertainty surrounding the participation of the original key members.
RUMOR: Star Lord, Nebula, and the new Guardians will appear in ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’

It appears that Gamora and Drax might be taking a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as their actors (Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista) have signaled they’ve completed their roles in the franchise. However, Chris Pratt is willing to resume his Star-Lord character for future stories. Mantis and Nebula actors (Pom Klementieff and Karen Gillan) haven’t ruled out a return yet.
Considering the storyline, it’s not unbelievable that Gamora and Drax won’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The character of Gamora has significantly evolved since her days with the initial Guardians, and Drax has found a new role following Thanos.
