Dwayne Johnson discussed his experience playing Black Adam while speaking to film students at Chapman University. He shared how his background as a wrestler influenced the way he portrayed the complex, anti-hero character.
Johnson explained that the role was inspired by his time as a villain in WWE and how that character eventually developed into the popular ‘The Rock’ persona we see today.

Johnson Says Playing a Heel Helped Define Black Adam
Dwayne Johnson shared with the audience that his experience with wrestling heel characters helped him prepare for his role in Black Adam.
He really enjoyed the creative process, especially developing that part of the DC universe and bringing new heroes to life on screen.
Johnson added that he wishes that universe well but is focused on other projects now.
Via THR:
I really enjoyed my time playing the villain in wrestling, and it helped shape the anti-hero persona The Rock eventually became. I had a fantastic experience making Black Adam. We had fun developing those characters and introducing new ones within that world, and I wish the universe continued success. Now, I’m excited to move on to other projects.

Black Adam Still Outperforms James Gunn’s Superman on Streaming
Dwayne Johnson recently spoke out after reports indicated James Gunn’s Superman movie didn’t perform as well on streaming as Black Adam.
Even with DC’s efforts to start fresh, the previous movie is still performing better online, which continues the discussion about the future of the DC Universe and the leadership of James Gunn.
I heard that Dwayne Johnson was initially going to be in charge of the DC Universe, but then James Gunn came in and really took the reins, launching DC Studios and kicking things off with Superman. It’s a pretty big shift in who’s steering the ship, honestly.
