HBO is moving forward with season two of Dune: Prophecy, and production is now officially underway. The network also announced some exciting new cast members, including Indira Varma, Tom Hollander, and Ashley Walters.
Filming for the second season of Dune: Prophecy has begun! The eight-episode season, led by showrunner Alison Schapker, is being shot in Hungary, Jordan, and Spain. HBO has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the production to mark the occasion.
The upcoming series, Dune: Prophecy, is adding some exciting new actors to its cast. Soumya Varma (known for Game of Thrones and Obi-Wan Kenobi), Oliver Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean, The White Lotus), and Travis Walters (Adolescence, Bullet Boy) are all joining the show. HBO has not yet revealed what roles they will play.
We now know which actors will be filming alongside the new cast members of Dune: Prophecy. Several stars from the first season are returning, including popular favorites like Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Yerin Ha, Barbara Marten, and Tessa Bonham Jones.
The second season of Dune: Prophecy will bring back Jessica Barden and Emma Canning, meaning we’ll see more scenes from the past focusing on the young Harkonnen sisters, who are key to this prequel’s story. Because the show is set 10,000 years before the events involving Paul Atreides, and covers many generations, it’s difficult to predict the roles of the three new actors joining the cast.
Now that filming for season two of Dune: Prophecy has started, we can expect to learn more about the new characters soon. However, it will be quite a while before the season actually airs on HBO. It’s difficult to say exactly when it will be released, but production of season one was delayed by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Season one began filming in November 2022 and finally premiered in November 2024.
So, everyone’s asking when Dune: Prophecy season two will arrive. Honestly, I wish I had a crystal ball! A year from now? That’s what we’re all hoping for, but predicting the future is tough – I’m no all-seeing Kwisatz Haderach, and even if I were, I wouldn’t be around for another ten thousand years!
