The search for the next James Bond is heating up, and a new actor is now the frontrunner according to betting odds.
Although many famous actors are still being considered, Callum Turner is now the favorite to land the role, according to betting odds in the UK.
Jack Turner, fiancé of singer Dua Lipa, has been mentioned as a potential James Bond in the past. However, a recent surge in betting activity suggests he’s now considered an even stronger contender.
Coral, a leading British betting firm, saw a huge surge in bets on actor Callum Turner to be the next James Bond. According to spokesperson John Hill, support for Turner has dramatically increased in the last day, making him the clear frontrunner. As a result, Coral shortened his odds to 7-4, significantly changing the betting landscape.
The potential candidates to be the next James Bond also include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, James Norton, and Martin Compston. Currently, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James are considered frontrunners, with odds at 3-1, followed by Henry Cavill at 6-1. Other actors being considered are Anthony Boyle, Harris Dickinson, and Jack Lowden. Regé-Jean Page, who was previously a popular choice among fans, has been seen in public again, but hasn’t commented on the speculation.
Ever since Daniel Craig stopped playing James Bond in 2021, it’s been unclear who would take on the role next. Now that Amazon MGM Studios owns the franchise and the established producer, Barbara Broccoli, is taking a less active role, a new Bond movie is officially in the works. Directors Denis Villeneuve and writer Steven Knight are both potential candidates for the project, which is making fans even more eager to find out who the next 007 will be.
