‘Don’t Want To Publicly Humiliate Myself’: Meghan McCain Shares Why She Turned Down Competing In Dancing With The Stars

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for celebrity decisions, I admire Meghan McCain’s honesty and conviction in choosing not to participate in reality shows like Dancing With The Stars. Her candidness about her lack of dancing skills and reluctance to publicly humiliate herself is refreshing in an era where fame often seems to overshadow talent.

Meghan McCain, aged 39, candidly discusses her decision to stay away from reality television shows like “Dancing with the Stars,” a role that’s been proposed to her on three occasions.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that the esteemed former host of The View discussed this matter on her podcast, Citizen McCain. She disclosed that she was invited to participate in Dancing with the Stars an impressive three times, but each time I respectfully declined the proposal. In my own words, I chose not to subject myself to public humiliation because I’m a dreadful dancer and reality television isn’t my forte.

She mentioned the sheer number of reality TV shows she had been invited to join would astonish people. Yet, McCain wonders about her “personality” that makes her suitable for such platforms, given her reserved nature, and she believes she wouldn’t do well on them.

39-year-old mentioned the topic of income for reality shows, explaining that if she participates in a competition show, she wouldn’t need to work for an entire year due to the significant payment received. She provided Clay Aiken as an example, who reportedly earned a substantial sum from The Masked Singer’s previous season.

She stated that she would not reveal how much it pays because she did not have Aiken’s permission but he participated in the aforementioned show and everyone should want to get on it. She continued, “The Masked Singer is a paycheck.”

Apart from other reasons, she opted out of reality shows because she harbors the ambition to enter politics someday. McCain explained that her absence from reality TV could be attributed to a slim chance that she might run for public office in the future. The 39-year-old further stated, “If I ever find myself struggling and facing financial troubles, then feel free to reach out, but for now, I’m doing well.”

John McCain’s participation in Dancing with the Stars might have added excitement to the show, but this year’s lineup boasts some intriguing personalities vying for the title. Among them are Tori Spelling, Jenn Tran, Joey Graziadei, Danny Amendola, Phaedra Parks, Dwight Howard, Anna Delvey, and numerous others who will grace our screens during this season.

Season 33 of the series kicks off on both Disney+ and ABC on September 17 (Wednesday), with subsequent episodes available for streaming on Hulu starting the following day.
