In 2016, while serving as a security guard at the InterContinental hotel in Los Angeles, Florez reported that he was summoned to aid a woman in distress. Upon his arrival, he encountered Ventura and Diddy, who were seen on the hotel’s security footage engaging in a physical altercation with her. According to reports from the court proceedings, the previous security guard is believed to have stated, “She seemed terrified,” further explaining, “She huddled in a corner, her hood up, concealed.
