Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of assault.
During the latest developments in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’s trial, it’s said that Officer Israel Florez of the Los Angeles Police Department testified, sharing details about a 2016 hotel incident following questions regarding his interaction with the musician and his former partner, Cassie Ventura.
In 2016, while serving as a security guard at the InterContinental hotel in Los Angeles, Florez reported that he was summoned to aid a woman in distress. Upon his arrival, he encountered Ventura and Diddy, who were seen on the hotel’s security footage engaging in a physical altercation with her. This footage was presented as evidence in court, as reported by NBC News.
According to reports from the court proceedings, the previous security guard is believed to have stated, “She seemed terrified,” further explaining, “She huddled in a corner, her hood up, concealed. I couldn’t make out her face; she was essentially hiding in the corner. On the ground lay a shattered flower vase.” (The outlet’s article details this.)
As reported by the publication, Florez disclosed that the rapper indicated to him there was an argument between them, and Ventura tried to step away to retrieve her phone. However, Diddy allegedly stopped her from leaving, according to his statement.
According to reports, Florez is said to have stood in the doorway briefly until she exited the room, and later, as they both prepared to depart, Diddy (Bad Boy Records founder) reportedly suggested what he called a “bribe” to him.
According to their report, the ex-security guard testified, saying, “He tossed a bag full of cash at me and warned, ‘Keep this secret,'” on the witness stand.
According to reports, Florez is said to have mentioned another occurrence involving Diddy and the hotel’s security personnel as well. This incident supposedly concluded with Florez holding Diddy against a wall after the rapper attempted to seize their and his colleague’s cell phones.
According to the report, the former security officer claimed that the individual approached the door, entered, then shut it; he seized the phone my coworker was using, as he suspected they were secretly recording him.
Florez revealed that the musician handed the phone back and told the rapper he wasn’t recording, thereby calming the situation as reported by the source.
