As a dedicated follower of Taylor Swift’s career and politics, I find it amusing yet concerning that Donald Trump is once again attempting to manipulate public opinion by falsely claiming Taylor’s endorsement. Given my personal experiences with Taylor’s activism and her vocal support for progressive causes, I have no doubt that she will not be swayed by such underhanded tactics.
It appears that Donald Trump, the previous U.S. president who plans to run again in 2024, might be trying to garner support from Taylor Swift based on his recent social media actions. On Sunday, August 16, he shared a series of images on his Truth Social account, which were produced by AI and led people to believe that Taylor had endorsed him. However, this endorsement appears to be false.

One of the mentioned images shows an altered photograph of Taylor Swift wearing an Uncle Sam-like uniform and carrying a sign that reads, “TAYLOR SWIFT URGES YOU TO VOTE FOR DONALD TRUMP.” As reported by Consequence.net, Trump also circulated a fake news story claiming that fans of Taylor Swift (Swifties) are shifting towards the Republican Party due to a recent terrorist attack on a concert in Vienna, Austria. Trump accompanied his collection of posts with the words, “I agree.”
As a devoted fan, I’d like to highlight that Taylor Swift has yet to express support for any candidate in the 2024 presidential race. Contrastingly, in 2020, she openly endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, stating her belief that our nation requires leadership that acknowledges the importance of safety and representation for people of color, reproductive rights for women, and the recognition and inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community, as expressed to V Magazine.
At that point, Swift was vocal about his worries regarding President Trump’s management of the COVID-19 crisis, in addition to fueling racial and white supremacist sentiments.

In another post on Sunday, Trump circulated an altered picture depicting Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris speaking to a group of communists at the forthcoming Democratic convention. Simultaneously, he asserted that the actual attendance at Harris’s events was lower than her team had anticipated.
In the latest surveys, Kamala Harris appears to be catching up with Donald Trump in crucial swing states, and she’s actually ahead of him by three points when third-party candidates are factored in on a national level.
Currently, Swift is touring the UK with her hugely successful Eras Tour. On August 17, Malala Yousafzai, along with her husband, Asser Malik, and a small circle of friends, were in attendance at her Wembley show.
