Dolly Parton Reveals She’s ‘Going to Have to Relearn’ Some Things After Demise of Husband Carl Dean; Says She Feels at ‘Peace’

Dolly Parton is discussing her ways of dealing with the passing away of her long-time partner, Carl Dean, who was with her for 60 years. The singer revealed his death on March 4th, having confirmed it the day before. More recently, at the 40th opening ceremony of Dollywood, she made an unexpected appearance.

At the gathering, she shared with Knox News that she was in a better state than expected. She expressed, “I am improving more than I anticipated. I’ve been with him for 60 years, so I will need to learn some things anew that we used to do together. However, I will always keep him close by.

The 79-year-old expressed that her husband, Carl Dean, had endured much hardship, and she was glad he found peace. However, she still felt the absence of him and continued to love him deeply, saying “I am content knowing he’s at peace, but it doesn’t stop me from missing him and cherishing him.

Jolene shared an endearing quirk about Dean: He often purchases his own admission tickets to Dollywood, much to the amusement of others. She explained, “He would visit the park, buy his ticket, wait in line, and get his own pass. He didn’t want anyone giving him a ticket because he was married to Dolly. People find that absolutely hilarious.

The couple initially crossed paths when Parton was only 18 in 1964; however, they managed to keep their relationship under wraps until 1966 when they secretly got married. Since then, they have been inseparable for an incredible 60 years. Dolly expressed, “There’s a void in my heart, but we’ll fill it with positivity, and he will forever remain by my side.
