Doja Cat’s Most Shocking Met Gala Looks: Towels, Wet Dresses, and Cat Prosthetics!

Doja Cat isn’t shy about donning eye-catching and unconventional ensembles. She has made headlines with her daring, albeit provocative, outfits at the Met Gala. Here is a collection of some of her most outrageous looks in anticipation of the 2025 Met Gala. From sporting a towel as a dress to embodying a feline:

Towel Dress

Last year’s performance saw the artist switching through no less than three distinct styles, ranging from the formal attire suitable for the Gala’s afterparty.

Initially, she made her appearance in a gown reminiscent of towels, fitting the evening’s motif titled “Sleeping Beauties: The Resurgence of Fashion.” She also donned a towel turban and accentuated the ensemble with glitter tears on her eyes, skillfully applied by renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath.

The portrayal was elegant, mimicking a woman exiting a shower, as described by McGrath to Vogue. Instead of water droplets, she had sparkling, magical tears of happiness cascading down her face, adorned with glitter. Before proceeding to the event, Doja stood in front of the Mark Hotel and later climbed into her vehicle.

Wet Dress

In that very year, under the glare of the red carpet lights, I chose not to wipe away my mascara-streaked tears, but made a bold move by changing from my towel attire into a wet t-shirt dress instead. My signature short, neat buzz cut paired perfectly with the ensemble. The crowd drew parallels between my look and those awe-inspiring Greek goddess statues.

Next up was the afterparty.

Monochromatic Nude

At the 2024 Met Gala afterparty, the female singer swapped out her mascara-streaked tears for understated makeup, complementing her form-fitting two-piece sheer outfit. Instead of wearing anything beneath her single-tone nude dress, Doja chose to go bare, resulting in one of her most debatable ensembles thus far.

Feline Doja

2023 saw the rapper outdo all expectations by transforming into a feline for real in her attire at the Met Gala, an event honoring the late Karl Lagerfeld, a renowned fashion designer. Doja Cat adorned a cat-like mask on her face as a tribute to Lagerfeld’s cherished pet, Choupette.

In conversation with Vogue, renowned celebrity makeup artist Ernesto Casillas revealed their aim for the look: “We aimed to create a feline appearance, but also keep it gentle and feminine. Doja Cat and I both felt that a thin and dainty cat-like eyeliner was essential,” he explained.
