As a long-time fan who’s grown accustomed to the pulse-racing, heartwarming, and gripping stories of 9-1-1: Lone Star, hearing that it might be coming to an end feels like a punch to the gut, much like a fire alarm suddenly going off in the middle of the night!
As a dedicated follower and fan of “9-1-1: Lone Star,” I’ve picked up on some whispers suggesting that the show may be approaching its finale. Reports indicate that the series is at risk of being canceled, and Rob Lowe, our beloved actor, subtly hinted on August 1st that the upcoming fifth season could be its last on Fox.
He stressed having this season display what conventional television can still bring to viewers in a world of streaming services, hoping it would demonstrate to audiences about the worth of such shows.
During a chat with Variety, he shared that as they began filming Season 5, everyone involved believed it could be our swansong. Lowe expressed, “Our aim was to demonstrate to everyone just how much potential there is in network TV, should there be the desire to explore it further.”
He continued, “It feels like it’s probably the end of an era of a certain type — well, it doesn’t feel like it. It is the end of an era…”
Rob Lowe mentioned that what he’s most proud of is the “weekly tales we managed to share, considering their grandeur and magnitude.” This type of show has come to an end, he noted, commending each episode for its cinematic quality, reminiscent of mini-movies.

The official description of the show reads, “A New York firefighter relocates to Austin, Texas with his son, where he works to save people’s lives while trying to solve his own personal problems.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to highlight my current favorite TV show: 9-1-1: Lone Star, where I play Owen Strand, captain of an Austin firehouse in Texas. My on-screen son is T.K., portrayed by Ronen Rubinstein. This engaging series is a spinoff from the original 9-1-1 and features an impressive cast that includes Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Gina Torres, Brianna Baker, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael Silva, Kelsey Yates, Skyler Yates, and more.
Rob Lowe expressed his pride to People about his role as both an actor and producer, stating that they consistently produce high-quality narratives each week. He added, “I stand tall against anyone in the industry. It’s challenging to maintain our weekly production, but we manage, and I appreciate the fact that people enjoy it so much.”
9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 will premiere on September 23, 2024.
