How To Play Solo In Elden Ring Nightreign

You’re free to play alone whenever you want, whether it’s online or offline, by engaging with the Roundtable at Roundtable Hold. The initial screen you’ll see is the Expeditions menu, and moving through it will reveal the Matchmaking Settings menu. From here, scroll down to find “Expedition Type”. You’ll only see two choices:

1. Solo Expedition
2. Multiplayer Expedition

  • Multiplayer – play with a group of three
  • Single Player – play alone. (which is great for trying out new characters for the first time)

Choosing Single Player mode enables you to start any adventure that has been unlocked all by yourself. This selection persists until you manually switch back to Multiplayer in the Expedition Type menu. Both game modes are stored within the same save file, allowing you to utilize whatever you’ve earned or collected, either with friends or on your own, based on your choice.

At the time of writing, there is no way to play with just two players.

Does Elden Ring Nightreign Scale Down When Playing Single Player

Playing solo in this game has a significant drawback: you won’t have partners to assist with different roles during combat or to increase damage against some tougher bosses. However, it’s worth noting that when you play Single Player, the health of all enemies is reduced. This means their overall damage remains the same, but their lower health will be quite apparent and almost every boss can be defeated on your own with ease.

In simpler terms, when you play on your own, there might be several bosses attacking simultaneously, just as when others are present. While enemy health is reduced, the difficulty level remains fairly high for a solo player. Additionally, without teammates to revive you, one disadvantage is that you won’t receive healing. However, you can buy an item called Wending Grace from vendors in Limveld, which will bring you back to life once when playing alone.

In a single-player game, you’ll find the item called Wending Grace in merchants’ stock, but it won’t be available during multiplayer sessions.
