Doctor Who’s Woke Shift: Fans Revolt as Ratings Plummet!

It’s clear that things aren’t going well for Doctor Who, as the intended audience is entirely turning away from it.

The long-running TV series “Doctor Who” is experiencing record-low ratings throughout its more than 60 years on air. There’s a lot of speculation about lead actor Ncuti Gatwa, with questions about whether he might be leaving the show, being dismissed, or dealing with something else entirely.

Russell T Davies, in a notable shift, significantly amplified his inclusive content when he received funding from Disney+. Instead of maintaining the high-quality programming that attracted a massive audience during David Tennant’s tenure, which was characterized by its inclusivity and entertainment value, Davies opted to use the Disney funds to target certain groups, particularly straight white men, while also seemingly self-congratulatory.

Even Left-Leaning Fans Say New Doctor Who Is Unwatchable

It appears that the third season won’t be happening according to reports, as Disney+ has decided against renewing the show. Some progressive viewers seem to share this sentiment as well, feeling they’ve reached their limit.

A follower of the popular series Doctor Who shared an audio clip (you can listen here) that seems to originate from a recent BBC radio broadcast where they engage in a conversation about Doctor Who. It’s been revealed that everyone involved identifies as left-leaning or liberal, and they have expressed strong disdain for David Tennant’s era of the revived series (New Who).

BBC Radio Host Says Doctor Who Has Become ‘Intolerant’

One of the radio personalities discusses a message they got from their friend “Andy,” who openly identifies as left-leaning and has acquaintances who are gay and transgender. Andy expressed his dislike towards the latest incarnation of Doctor Who.

I identify as someone on the left, and my circle includes various women, trans individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. However, I find myself wincing at Doctor Who episodes. The show, once a family-friendly exploration of space and time travel, has transformed into a platform that seemingly portrays white, straight men as the universal villains. It caters primarily to 12-year-old girls, yet struggles to retain viewers over the age of 40. If Doctor Who is in decline, it might be due to the BBC’s mismanagement. Yes, there were always tales with messages or themes addressing environmental issues, abuse of power, and intolerance. But now, the show has turned into a program that seems to condemn a large portion of its audience just for being who they are.

BBC Hosts Say Doctor Who Feels Like a Lecture, Not Entertainment

Afterward, they discuss Doctor Who and highlight that they’ve recently viewed approximately 20 minutes and observed the increased representation, or ‘diversity.’ They also express their belief that some fans might find themselves disconnected from the episodes due to not being able to identify with them.

“Sometimes it does feel like you are being lectured, to,” said one of the hosts.

Additionally, it was mentioned that she seldom watches the program, instead tuning in only when necessity demands, which elicited hearty laughter from all present.

Occasionally, it seems as though you’re being given a talk rather than engaged in a conversation… I find that what I’m saying is identical to what Andy has said. Therefore, he’s not mistaken. He’s not the only one who feels this way,” she explained. “I often ponder, how do you continue producing a program when it consists mainly of lectures and lacks the intriguing element of time travel?

Gatwa Out? Doctor Who Finale Could Tease Regeneration and Hiatus

It’s worth noting that the last episode of Doctor Who Season 2 will air tomorrow. There are whispers that Ncuti Gatwa has indeed left the series, and a regeneration scene might be featured. However, it’s speculated that they won’t reveal who the new Doctor is, as further rumors suggest that Doctor Who may take an extended break, potentially for several years.
