Doctor Who Season 2 on OTT: Release Date, Cast, When and Where to Watch, and What to Expect

Starting April 12, 2025, Doctor Who Season 2 officially begins! In America, you can stream it on Disney+ at 12 a.m. Pacific Time or 3 a.m. Eastern Time. For our friends in the U.K., the episode will be broadcast on BBC and BBC iPlayer. Unlike the last season which was on Friday evenings in the U.S., this one moves to early Saturday morning releases instead. Every week, new episodes will air on the same day.

This current season unfolds the narrative of the Fifteenth Doctor, portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa. Kicking off the series is an episode entitled “The Robot Revolution,” which was penned by the show’s head writer, Russell T Davies.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but see this new season as more than just Season 2 – it feels like Season 15 to me! The numbering change kicked off when Ncuti Gatwa took over the role and our beloved show teamed up with Disney+ in 2023.

I, Belinda Chandra, step into my role as a dedicated nurse and new companion to the Doctor, embarking on an extraordinary journey in The Robot Revolution. Unfortunately, I find myself abducted by robots and transported to a bizarre alien world bearing my name, Miss Belinda Chandra. Remarkably, I am selected to rule over this enigmatic planet, taking on a new and unexpected role as its ruler.

The Doctor encounters Belinda Chandra, initiating an incredible journey aimed at returning her to Earth. However, an unknown force prevents their homecoming, and the TARDIS crew, traversing through time, must confront perils, adversaries, and terrors on a scale never seen before.

In a fresh and straightforward rephrase: Season 2 of Doctor Who continues the storyline from the 2024 Christmas episode titled “Joy to the World,” where significant adjustments were made for the Doctor. It also unfolds after Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson) chooses to remain on Earth following her discovery of her birth mother.

In this fresh adventure, I, being the ardent fan that I am, find myself alongside an intriguing lady named Belinda. And oh, the excitement multiplies when I spot Millie Gibson reprising her role as Ruby Sunday! This time around, she’s a member of UNIT, making the familiarity of her presence even more comforting amidst the unfolding mystery.
