Doctor Doom Wins in ‘One World Under Doom’ as Marvel Previews #1

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming storyline “One World Under Doom” has me absolutely buzzing! The idea of Doctor Doom taking control of the Marvel Universe is not new, but the execution promised by Ryan North and R.B. Silva looks to be a game-changer.

It’s common knowledge that Robert Downey Jr. will rejoin the MCU to portray the franchise’s significant adversary, none other than Doctor Doom. Given his exceptional character development, Doctor Doom holds a rich history and enjoys immense fan affection despite being a villain.

Presently, Doctor Doom is a significant figure in comic books, and recently, we disclosed that he was concocting another scheme to seize control… of virtually everything. Now, the plotline titled “Doom’s World” has commenced, and the forthcoming sneak peek promises to unveil some captivating facts.

As a gamer eagerly anticipating the release of “One World Under Doom #1,” I can’t help but feel the excitement coursing through my veins after catching a glimpse of the world under the villain’s control, as teased by Marvel. This tantalizing sneak peek could very well set the stage for one of Marvel’s most compelling story arcs in recent memory. In this report, I’m going to share all the essential details about this highly-anticipated narrative!

Titled “One World Under Doom“, this thrilling comic book series by author Ryan North (Fantastic Four) and artist R.B. Silva (Captain America: Symbol of Truth) delves into the restructured global order in its narrative, with a notorious villain taking center stage, as one might infer.

On February 12, 2025, we’ll witness the debut of a new adventure featuring an alliance between the Avengers (Captain Marvel, Sam Wilson Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Storm), Spider-Man, Steve Rogers, Squirrel Girl, Doctor Strange, and the Fantastic Four. The villains in this story are Doom and Baron Zemo. According to the official summary, they’ll be facing off against the powerful duo of Doom and Baron Zemo.

Six months past, I, a fervent admirer, witnessed Doctor Victor Von Doom ascend to the role of Sorcerer Supreme – only to vanish beyond the veiled curtains of Latveria’s fortified frontiers.

As a devoted fan, I must admit that the hustle and bustle of the world often leaves me so engrossed that the absence of Doom seems like a welcome respite at times. It’s not that I don’t miss him, but his absence provides an unusual sense of calm amidst the chaos.

Few appreciate its real nature – a tranquil moment preceding turmoil. That tranquility has given way to the arrival of the actual storm.

As I sat down to start another exciting gaming session, the world around me took an unexpected turn. Suddenly, my screens were filled with the ominous presence of Doctor Doom, Earth’s most powerful sorcerer. He’d taken control of all broadcast mediums and proclaimed himself the Emperor of a new United Latveria – ruling over us all!

And shockingly, impossibly, all of Earth’s leaders seem to be going along with this... Luckily, whether it’s mind control or Doombots, whatever’s affecting them hasn’t affected Earth’s heroes – and so they quickly form a strike team to stop Doom’s machinations… But will they succeed?

And what transpires when a few enthusiastically embrace their latest Emperor, demanding a unified world under despair?

The narrative will expand upon the debated “The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man” series, with the action unfolding following the events where Doom seized control of the world in a single, swift move, as North put it.

Intriguingly, I can’t help but ponder over the means by which he amassed such control, convincing masses to follow his lead. Yet, a far more daunting enigma arises: having conquered the globe, what plans does he harbor for this newfound dominion? And how will Earth’s mightiest heroes, the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, respond to this threat and strive to thwart his ambitions?

North further said the following about the comic book:

Title “One World Under Doom” is a project I’ve been developing since the year 2023. Having such a significant head start offers numerous advantages in storytelling. For instance, I have ample time to ensure all plot elements coalesce effectively. Additionally, it allows me to provide completed scripts to other artists working on related tie-ins, offering them a clearer vision of the narrative progression rather than just an abstract concept.

I’m thrilled about the direction this tale has taken, and where it might lead next. It’s been exhilarating to learn about the creative strategies other groups have devised for their books to leverage this novel situation – we’re all working together towards a common goal.

To me, Doom stands out as the ultimate antagonist for reasons beyond his victories. It’s not merely about inflicting physical harm on him until he stops committing wrongs; he’s far more complex than that. He is an individual who has meticulously planned and strategized to accomplish exactly what he desires, with a keen understanding of how to manipulate others into aiding his cause.

Silva also commented on the upcoming nine-issue storyline, saying the following:

As a devoted gamer, it’s an absolute joy for me to delve into the world of Marvel, particularly with Doom being one of my favorite characters. Working on this storyline is more than a privilege; it’s like getting a chance to play with a cherished toy. I’m thrilled about the introduction of magic into the equation, opening up endless opportunities for me to showcase Doom at his best, maintaining the awesome essence that has always defined him.

I’m striving to offer fans a unique twist on what they’re used to, and I believe the touch of magic could be truly transformative. Here’s hoping they appreciate it just as much as I do!

As said, One World Under Doom #1 is out on February 12, 2025.
