Halloween allows for all sorts of creative costumes, and the world of Netflix’s Wednesday definitely knows how to do it! Recently, Netflix shared a peek at how Halloween is celebrated in that spooky universe, and it was a surprising sight. We figured everyone would embrace a dark, gothic look – it fits the show perfectly! Instead, Wednesday’s iconic hand, Thing, went in a completely different direction with a bright and colorful costume. It turns out Thing dressed up as Luffy from One Piece! It’s a little unsettling, but we absolutely love it. Happy Halloween, or just hoping this brightens your day!
This Wednesday/One Piece Halloween crossover is fantastic! Thing even painted its nails a copper color to match the theme and went searching for a pirate ship – we totally support it. Thing shared about its Luffy costume, saying, “what i lack in stretchiness i make up for in stitches.” That’s a clever way to put it! We’re relieved Thing didn’t eat a Devil Fruit – we wouldn’t want to see this hand gain stretching abilities. Overall, Thing nailed the Luffy look, complete with blue pants, a sash, and, of course, the iconic straw hat!
Wednesday and Luffy are complete opposites. Wednesday is dark, gloomy, and keeps to herself, while Luffy is always happy, positive, and energetic. However, both shows—Wednesday and One Piece—share a playful, supernatural element. We think Luffy would especially enjoy meeting Thing! Perhaps they’ll cross paths in the future, now that season three of One Piece is on the way, as part of the Netflix universe.
We really enjoyed both of these shows! It’s great to see Wednesday and One Piece combined like this. And we’re sending a happy Halloween to the King of the Pirates, Thing, and hoping it has fun pretending to be Luffy.
