Disney Confirms 2027 Release Window For Frozen 3 With First Logo And Official Concept Art At D23 Expo; DEETS

As a die-hard fan who grew up with the magical tales of Arendelle, I can barely contain my excitement for Disney’s Frozen 3! Having been captivated by the original Frozen a decade ago, and then mesmerized by its sequel, I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve knowing that another adventure is set to unfold in 2027.

Disney is planning to release Frozen 3 in the year 2027, aiming to address some questions that were left open after the successful film franchise.

At D23 expo, Disney Animation wrapped up their announcements with a delightful surprise from Jennifer Lee – the upcoming musical, Frozen 3’s new visual development art was revealed! As Disney’s chief creative officer, Lee showcased the latest visual developments in animation, which were created by Britney Lee. The artwork displayed during this event portrayed Elsa on a white horse and Anna seated on a brown stag.

Disney’s official account shared on social media, “Feeling a bit of a nip in the air…? Exciting news from #D23: Frozen 3 is set to hit theaters in 2027, as announced by Jennifer Lee!”

Under the leadership of Jennifer Lee, the original creator of Frozen, Disney Animation is poised to deliver even more captivating stories from Arendelle in the future. Notably, Lee has collaborated on writing two Frozen films – Frozen and Frozen II. The inaugural film of the series, which earned her an Academy Award for best animated feature, was released a decade ago.

Drawing inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless fairy tale, The Snow Queen, the first Frozen movie graced the silver screen in 2013. This enchanting film quickly captured hearts worldwide due to its remarkable voice talent: Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf, the lovable snowman. It raked in an impressive 1.28 billion USD globally at that time, securing it a place among the top five highest-grossing films ever made. Today, it ranks 22nd among the highest-grossing movies of all time to date.

The exceptional soundtrack, featuring hits such as “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” from Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez and the Academy Award-winning “Let It Go,” sold over 4.1 million copies by June 2016 and was streamed more than 51 million times.

2019 saw the debut of Frozen 2, which raked in an impressive 1.45 billion USD globally at the box office, outperforming its predecessor and placing it as the 14th highest-grossing film ever made. The movie expanded the captivating realm of Arendelle by presenting fresh magical elements, locations, and characters.

As a lover of all things pop culture, I can’t help but feel a touch of sentimental excitement as I anticipate the arrival of Frozen 3 in cinemas in 2027. This much-loved animation series has truly captured our hearts and imaginations!
