In Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom’s renowned RPG series takes you on a journey into the Forbidden Lands. As you uncover new regions, you’re free to explore them at your own pace. One such location is the Oilwell Basin, which plays a significant role in the narrative of Monster Hunter Wilds. This area is marked by its oil and fire, especially when you delve into its underground depths. The heat in these specific areas can cause passive damage to your hunter. To counteract this, your hunter needs to consume Cool Drinks regularly.
After coming across Cool Drinks in your adventure, you’ll find them available for purchase at the Provisions Store. Skilled hunters often learn self-reliance by sourcing their own resources. Follow this guide to discover where Chillshrooms grow in Monster Hunter Wilds and master the art of creating Cool Drinks on your own.
Chillshrooms & Cool Drinks
Uncommon mushrooms, known as Chillshrooms, can be discovered during your adventures. They sport a pale, nondescript cap and are exclusively found beneath the ground. Whenever you fancy embarking on a solo or group expedition into the wilderness, simply utilize the ‘environment party link’. Remember, it’s crucial to collect ingredients for your concoctions and traps as part of mastering the art of hunting in Monster Hunter Wilds. Preparation is key!
If you’ve gathered some Chillshrooms, you can instantly create Refreshing Potions. You can do this by checking your crafting menu at your base camp tent or out in the field. Look for the Cool Drink recipe under the potions section and confirm to transform one Chillshroom into one Cool Drink. It’s a good idea to always have five Cool Drinks prepared in your inventory before you embark on your hunt. Many creatures from Oilwell Basin can venture deeper into the map’s hotter areas, potentially exposing you to intense heat.
Where to Find Chillshrooms
In a specific location, you’ll discover the elusive Chillshrooms, and that place is the Oilwell Basin. To locate them, descend to the lower levels and explore areas numbered 12, 13, and 14. As you move along the flowing water from area 14 into 13, you’ll encounter three Chillshrooms. Another one can be found on a small path east of area 13 that leads towards the Limestone Cavern. You can establish a Quick Camp in the cavern and use fast travel to quickly gather Chillshrooms, as well as other materials, by returning to this location. The map above marks the locations of Chillshrooms with red arrows for your convenience.
