Produced and developed by Li Haoling, the animated series To Be Hero X explores the intersection of superhero action and societal issues in a universe where the level of power an individual possesses is determined by public trust. The strength of each character is reflected numerically on their wrist as Trust Value, which fluctuates based on public opinion.
As faith in a person grows, so does their potential. It’s possible for anyone to ascend to heroic status if they manage to gain enough credibility, but once trust is broken, their influence wanes. The highest-ranked hero receives the title “X,” and stands as the most reliable figure.
Every two years, the top ten champions face off in a competition that alters their reliability ratings and standings. The narrative revolves around X, currently the highest-ranked champion, as changing public sentiment threatens his standing and security in a volatile world driven by reputation and belief.
According to the official site, in To Be Hero X Episode 1, I’ll be immersed in the fundamental framework of this trust-based hero community. This episode primarily focuses on Lin Lin, a young advertising professional, who is currently working on an ad for Ideal Hero Nice – a well-known figure of the Treeman Group.
In my life, I may appear fully engrossed in my career, but deep down, there’s a yearning within me for a hero of my own, suggesting that beneath the surface lies a more complex set of personal aspirations in a world where popularity reigns supreme. Prepare to meet X, Nice, and witness the intricate relationships unfolding among this circle of heroes.
