‘Didn’t Even Want to Have Tattoos’: Matthew Perry’s Ex Reveals FRIENDS Star Vowed ‘He Would Never, Ever Use Needles’

As a devoted fan who has followed Matthew Perry’s career since his days as Chandler Bing on Friends, it is heartbreaking to learn about the new developments surrounding his untimely death. Having grown up with his characters and their antics, I never imagined that such a tragic fate would befall one of my favorite actors.

Matthew Perry’s former partner, Kayti Edwards, has made statements that bring up fresh inquiries about the demise of the Friends star. She claims that the actor from 17 Again had sworn off using intravenous drugs.

Edwards finds it surprising that fresh accounts indicate Perry, who reportedly had a fear of needles, passed away following an injection of ketamine.

According to recent findings from a federal probe, it appears that Matthew Perry received ketamine injections no fewer than 21 times over the span of a single week, prior to his passing.

In an interview with a mirror, Kayti Edwards, a past assistant of Matthew, expressed her surprise by saying, “It’s strange to me… Matthew consistently assured me that he would never resort to using needles or injecting anything into his body.”

During the interview, Edwards shared an interesting detail about Matthew Perry, who starred in “The Whole Nine Yards.” He revealed that Perry had such a strong fear of needles that he was reluctant to get any tattoos.

Additionally, Kayti Edwards confessed that she frequently observed Matthew Perry under the influence of multiple drugs, a sight that often alarmed her. In fact, she remembered urging him about the potential risks associated with combining different substances.

In the course of the conversation, it was disclosed by the former assistant that the renowned actor had stated, “You only cease to live when you inject substances … and I would absolutely never, under any circumstances, engage in such behavior.”

In the year 2006, Kayti Edwards and Matthew Perry were a couple, with Kayti serving as an assistant to The Ron Clark Story actor in 2011. According to Kayti Edwards, their friendship continued until Perry’s passing in October 2023.

According to recent updates concerning the investigation into Perry’s demise, officials have apprehended and indicted five individuals, among them being two medical professionals and Perry’s most recent assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa.

According to officials, it was Iwamasa who gave the last dose of ketamine, after which Matthew Perry lost consciousness and tragically drowned in a hot tub.

On the 7th of August, Iwamasa admitted his guilt for conspiring to illegally distribute ketamine that resulted in someone’s death. Now, he is facing a sentence of up to 15 years behind bars.

Additionally, doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, as well as Jasven Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” and another suspected drug dealer named Erik Fleming, have also been taken into custody and face charges.

Matthew Perry died on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54.
