On Thursday, Deonte Nash, a renowned stylist previously employed by Sean “Diddy” Combs and singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, testified in a New York court. During his testimony, he disclosed that he facilitated an introduction between Ventura and actor Michael B. Jordan during a period when her relationship with Combs was ending. This revelation was made as part of the ongoing federal trial involving allegations of s*x trafficking and racketeering against Combs.
On Thursday, May 29th, Nash testified before the jury that Ventura learned about Combs’ romantic involvement with another woman during the filming of Honey 3 in South Africa, back in 2015. Nash stated that Ventura was upset, expressing her feelings by asking, “Why does he keep embarrassing me and trying to sabotage my career?
During that period, Nash mentioned that he connected Ventura with Michael B. Jordan. “I did set her up with Michael B. Jordan,” he stated in court. “He’s great, she’s great. I mean, why not?” He further explained that they started conversing and getting to know one another, eventually dating.
During questioning about the subject, lawyer Xavier Donaldson, representing Combs, inquired from Nash about how Ventura obtained Combs’ consent for taking up the film role in South Africa. However, Nash did not provide a direct response to this query.
On the day prior, May 28th, Nash had testified that he observed Combs physically attack Ventura, coerce her into engaging in “freak offs” – sexually explicit group activities involving male escorts fueled by drugs – and threaten to disseminate sex tapes to both their families and employers.
During the trial, a former assistant of Combs, identified as Mia for privacy reasons, stepped forward after the stylist. She claimed she witnessed Combs attacking Ventura at her apartment. “Deonte and I intervened right away,” Mia stated. “We were both trying to pull him off her.
She stated that at one moment, she felt so terrified that Deonte might harm him, that she ended up tackling him from behind. This occurred yesterday during her testimony.
In addition, Mia disclosed instances where Combs physically abused her by hurling objects at her when he was angry, and she claimed that the formerly respected music executive had inappropriately touched her on multiple occasions as well.
The key points in the federal case against Combs revolve around these disputed actions. Regarding the charges, the music tycoon has declared his innocence, claiming all allegations are unfounded. His defense team insists that any sexual encounters were mutual and consensual.
The trial continues as more witnesses are expected to testify in the high-profile case.
