Diddy Trial Update: Jury Selection Concludes, 8 Men and 4 Women Chosen For S*x Trafficking Case

Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of s*xual harassment, r*pe, and human trafficking.

The sexual trafficking trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs approaches its opening arguments, as the jury selection phase wraps up. The jury consists of eight men and four women, with six backup members. Arrested towards the end of 2024, Combs is also facing charges of racketeering and facilitating prostitution.

Originally scheduled to start last week, Judge Arun Subramanian decided to delay the federal trial for a while, allowing jurors to avoid potential nervousness during the proceedings.

The trials are anticipated to span over several weeks, involving approximately three to four accusers who will appear in court to testify against Combs. According to earlier news reports, Cassie Ventura, a former girlfriend of the rapper, is among those expected to give testimony.

Ventura initiated accusations against the artist, claiming he had committed rape and assault during their decade-long relationship. Subsequently, she took legal action against him by filing a lawsuit.

In addition, after the recent arrest of P. Diddy, a video emerged online that depicted the renowned rapper physically abusing his ex-partner in the lobby of a hotel. As a lifestyle expert, I strongly condemn such behavior and advocate for respectful relationships in all aspects of life.

Firstly, the jury has now been set following a change of heart by two jurors who decided to withdraw from their roles prior to the trial’s commencement. Secondly, ahead of the opening statements, Quincy Brown and King Combs, the children of the defendant, attended court to lend their support to their father, Diddy (also known as Combs).

At this moment, the events are unfolding at a federal court located in Lower Manhattan. However, due to certain rules, the hearing won’t be broadcasted on television.
