Did Zayn Malik Postpone Upcoming US Tour Amid One Direction Bandmate Liam Payne’s Death? Find Out

As a devoted fan who has grown up alongside these talented young men, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of loss and disbelief over Liam Payne’s untimely demise. Having followed their journey from The X Factor to the global phenomenon that was One Direction, it feels like we’ve lost not only an extraordinary performer but also a beloved member of our extended family.

Due to the sudden passing of his ex-bandmate from One Direction, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik has cancelled his U.S. tour titled Stairway to the Sky.

Payne, who was 31, died in Argentina on October 16th after allegedly jumping off a hotel balcony.

Originally, Malik intended to kick off the American portion of his tour a week from now with a show in San Francisco. However, some unfortunate incidents forced him to change his plans, leading to the postponement of the U.S. dates.

The artist behind “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” shared on social media that the dates for his Stairway to the Sky Tour have been changed due to his statement, “I’ve lost a brother.

During his tour, he also visited places like Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and New York in the United States, in addition to other locations.

In a note to his fans on platform X, Malik assured them that the tickets they’ve previously purchased would remain valid when the events are rescheduled.

Previously this week, the performer behind “Steal My Girl” posted a heartfelt tribute for the deceased One Direction member. He recounted their friendship during the band era, stating that he cherishes those moments and will deeply miss him.

Malik expressed, “When you departed, I sadly lost a brother. If only I could embrace you once more and bid farewell in a proper way, expressing my heartfelt love and deep respect for you.

As a loyal companion, I grieved profoundly upon learning of my ‘brother’s’ passing, feeling the loss of an opportunity to express my final goodbyes and share the depth of my admiration and respect for him.

In The X Factor competition of 2010, both Payne and Malik became globally recognized as members of One Direction, alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. However, Zayn departed from the band in 2015 to pursue his individual career, and ultimately, One Direction officially disbanded in 2016.

Liam Payne is mourned by his loved ones, which include his parents, siblings, and young son, Bear, who he co-parents with the singer Cheryl.
