Fans of Marvel may have spotted Tony Dalton, best recognized as The Swordsman from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in season 2, episode 6 of The Last of Us. For those who are familiar with him, he was featured in a flashback scene within the post-apocalyptic series.
Neil Druckmann, the showrunner, revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Tony Dalton was his preferred pick for portraying the character, Javier Miller.
I was really taken with his acting in Better Call Saul. In fact, I teasingly call him the most captivating yet intimidating man I’ve ever seen on TV,” he commented about the cast.
Apart from his outstanding portrayal, Dalton was also chosen for the role in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, an upcoming original game by Naughty Dog’s team. It’s worth noting that Neil Druckmann, who is serving as both the president and creative head of this project, is behind it.
In the series The Last of Us, there’s a flashback scene that takes us back to 1983, where Tony Dalton portrayed Javier Miller. This character was a local police officer who happened to be the aggressive father of Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Gabriel Luna’s Tommy.
In my youth, I, much like a young Joel, would often find myself seated at a table, bracing for my father’s arrival, the air thick with anticipation of a harsh confrontation. On the other hand, there was Tommy, a fellow in a similar time, attempting to purchase illicit substances only to stumble upon an unexpected incident with the dealer.
Here’s my take: Before long, I, being a passionate fan, couldn’t help but step into the fray, taking down the drug dealer in the process. However, it seems that my actions have caught the attention of the law enforcement officers, and now I find myself in a bit of hot water.
In the Marvel universe, we first witnessed Dalton as a mutant character in the Hawkeye series, and more recently, he appeared in the latest version of Daredevil, titled “Daredevil: Born Again,” starring Charlie Cox.
