Recently, Yung Gravy posted an Instagram snapshot of a chat he had with Welch. It appears that Welch reached out to him at 1:44 a.m., addressing him as “sir.” Around midday, Yung Gravy replied, complimenting Welch on her viral fame and inviting her to perform at one of his concerts in August.
In a straightforward manner, let me share what he said: “By the way, it’s not about me trying to impress because I’m unaware of your friend’s circumstances, but I would genuinely love for you to join me at a show next month to experience some good old country music with me.”
Yung Gravy was asked about his upcoming concert by Welch, and he suggested that she could choose a date from his upcoming performances. However, in a recent post, Yung Gravy seemed to express some frustration as he wrote, “Can’t be nice anymore lol,” hinting at being unhappy with how his message might have been misunderstood.
During an interview with TMZ on August 18, Welch mentioned her interaction with Yung Gravy. When inquired if he might have romantic intentions towards her, Welch playfully replied, “He’s suggested a date for us. I said something like ‘I don’t think so.'” This response fueled the rumors that Yung Gravy may have asked her out on a date.
Afterward, TMZ spoke with Yung Gravy, who acknowledged reaching out to Welch while maintaining that he didn’t ask her out on a formal date. He explained, “I wanted to express some affection towards her. I noticed people criticizing and being quite negative towards her. She’s just discussing sex in an open manner, which is something I also do.” He continued, “I felt she required some positivity. I believe I invited her to a performance. However, it could have been considered a date, though I don’t think I explicitly mentioned one.”
When Yung Gravy found out Welch wasn’t interested, he seemed taken aback, remarking, “She said no? Funny thing, I hadn’t actually asked her out yet, so… Well, that’s too bad.” Despite the confusion, Yung Gravy made clear that he would still be a fan of Welch.
