As a lifestyle expert who appreciates both the big and small moments that shape our lives, I find it fascinating to witness instances where renowned figures like Taika Waititi forget their own achievements. It’s not just amusing but also a reminder of how quickly we move from one project to another, often losing sight of the milestones along the way.
Director Taika Waititi showed up as a guest star on an episode of the long-running U.S. sitcom, The Simpsons. Yet, it seems he couldn’t recall being involved in that particular scene.
Ever since I was just a small fry, I’ve harbored this deep-seated desire to be part of the action on the screen. And guess what? The Marvel mastermind, Taika Waititi, made my dream come true! In an episode aptly named Murder, She Boat, he graced us with his very presence, playing none other than himself. I still can’t believe it!
The director shared that he felt thrilled upon reminiscing about his time on the sitcom, as recently someone had sent him a photo on his cellphone.
During an interview with media outlet Waititi, he revealed that it took him some time to grasp the fact that the image he received was a depiction of himself from The Simpsons cartoon series.
He expressed that he had long cherished the ambition of appearing on The Simpsons, having been an ardent fan since his childhood, and fortunately, he got the opportunity to portray The Simpsons.
In a recent statement, the director of Thor: Love and Thunder shared an amusing moment. He explained, “I recall feeling quite thrilled, and then someone recently showed me a screenshot of it from TV. It was just last week. I picked up my phone to respond and they sent me a picture saying, ‘Look at this!’ I replied, ‘What’s that?’ To which they answered, ‘You were on The Simpsons,’ and I exclaimed, ‘Wow, I forgot! Yes, indeed, I was on The Simpsons.’
As a lifestyle connoisseur looking back on my diverse career, it’s not just my appearance on The Simpsons that slips my mind from time to time. I should also mention my role in the 2019 television series, Year of the Rabbit, another captivating project that left its mark.
During our conversation, he mentioned that while he couldn’t initially recall working with Matt Berry in the show, a moment of realization struck him, and he exclaimed, “Year of the Rabbit! What did I do on this?” Only then did he remind himself, “Ah, yes! This is Matt! Now I remember. Yes, I remember. I have a clear recollection.
Regarding the actor, Waititi commented, “Matt Berry is a true legend.” He continued by expressing, “He’s one of my dearest friends and most admired actors. He’s undeniably one of the funniest individuals I’ve encountered. As for anything related to ‘Rabbit,’ I won’t miss it.
In addition to directing Jojo Rabbit, the movie’s creator also portrayed Adolf Hitler on screen.
