As a dedicated follower of royal news and someone who has had the privilege of witnessing the reign of Queen Elizabeth II during my lifetime, I find myself both shocked and saddened by the claims made by Boris Johnson in his upcoming memoir, Unleashed.
As a lifestyle expert looking back, I must share some surprising insights from Boris Johnson’s upcoming memoir, Unleashed. During his tenure as Prime Minister, Johnson was privy to information about Queen Elizabeth II’s health that is now causing quite the stir. He alleges that Her Majesty was diagnosed with bone cancer in her later years, a revelation that has sparked discussions regarding her health leading up to her passing in September 2022.
In an extract from Unleashed, as reported by the Daily Mail, Johnson shares his thoughts on his relationship with the late queen. He mentions that he had been aware for over a year that she had a type of bone cancer, and her doctors were concerned that at any moment, her health could suddenly deteriorate significantly. This suggests that the Queen’s health was rapidly deteriorating according to Johnson’s statement.
Prior to their last encounter, which occurred at Balmoral Castle in September 2022 (two days before her passing), Edward Young, the Queen’s private secretary, informed Johnson that the Queen’s health had significantly deteriorated over the summer.
In their discussion, Johnson observed that the Queen appeared significantly weakened. He described her as being unusually pale and leaning more than usual, and there were visible dark bruises on her hands and wrists, possibly due to intravenous drips or injections.
Regardless of her health issues, Johnson asserted that her mental abilities stayed keen. He mentioned that her mind, much like Edward’s observation, was untouched by her illness, and occasionally during their chats, she would still display her brilliant, quick-witted smile, illuminating the conversation with its instant uplifting charm.
As the time approached for her demise, Johnson disclosed that the Queen had been cognizant of her approaching death throughout the summer. He explained that she had made the decision to persevere and complete her final duty by overseeing a smooth and orderly transfer of power from him to his successor, Liz Truss.
During our recent gathering, I formally tendered my resignation, making me the 14th Prime Minister to serve under Queen Elizabeth II during her remarkable 70-year reign. It’s been speculated, and it’s not the first time I’ve heard such claims, that Her Majesty faced significant health challenges in her latter years.
2022 saw the release of Gyles Brandreth’s captivating book, “Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait.” In it, he hinted at persistent whispers about Her Majesty potentially battling a unique form of myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer. He posited that this diagnosis could shed light on the tiredness, weight loss, and mobility struggles she experienced in her final year. As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but wonder if there’s any truth to these intriguing rumors.
