At the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary event, I, Pete Davidson, found myself in an awkward predicament when I unexpectedly ran into my ex, Kim Kardashian. As per the news, I swiftly chose to extricate myself from the situation, intentionally avoiding any direct contact with her. Considering our past, it’s not shocking that the encounter wasn’t a seamless one.
Davidson and Kardashian, who were together for nine months from 2021 to 2022, having met backstage at SNL, are said not to be communicating anymore. They barely spoke at the Met Gala in 2023, and their encounter at the SNL reunion was far from cordial.
Immediately upon Kardashian’s attendance at Chris Rock’s post-party, a friend of Davidson reportedly commented, “I need to get Pete out of here. Pete needs to leave,” as stated by The US Sun. A fan-recorded video also seems to show the moment Kardashian passed by Davidson on the red carpet without giving him a greeting.
It’s been confirmed that although ex-partners were seen talking at an afterparty, it wasn’t a romantic encounter. Following their separation, they have each moved on to different relationships – Kim with NFL player Odell Beckham Jr., Pete with Madelyn Cline and Chase Sui Wonders. However, recent reports indicate that neither of them is currently in a relationship.
Davidson’s relationship with Kardashian appears to be an outlier compared to his amicable relations with other exes. Despite maintaining “affection and admiration” for her, as suggested by a confidant, he seems to prefer avoiding encounters with her. Moving forward, Kardashian is looking for someone more compatible in terms of age, which suggests that their friendship may not be rekindled.
