As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in navigating the complexities of public figures’ personal and professional lives, I admire Emily Armstrong for her swift response to the controversy surrounding her previous association with Danny Masterson. In today’s world, it is essential for individuals to take responsibility for their actions and learn from past mistakes, especially when they involve supporting someone accused of heinous crimes like sexual assault.
As Emily Armstrong, stepping into the role as Linkin Park’s new lead singer, I feel it’s important to speak openly about a past association that has recently come under scrutiny. I am referring to my previous involvement with Danny Masterson, who was recently found guilty of sexual assault charges.
In her Instagram post, Armstrong mentioned that she once went to watch a court hearing of someone she considered a friend (which turned out to be Danny Masterson), several years back. She didn’t explicitly name the person, but instead said, “I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer.” Later on, Armstrong admitted that she had been under the impression she was assisting her friend, but soon came to understand that she was making an error in doing so.
After that incident, it became clear to me that I had made a mistake in my judgment of him. I’ve always been one to find the best in others, but this time I was wrong. Since then, we haven’t exchanged words. Shocking revelations came to light, and he was eventually proven guilty.
Armstrong made it clear that she disapproves of Masterson’s behavior and any form of mistreatment or abuse. She expresses that she does not support abusive or violent actions towards women, and she identifies with the suffering of those who have been victims of such crimes.
Her statement was made after Cedric Bixler-Zavala, husband of Chrissie Carnell-Bixler (one of Masterson’s accusers), leveled accusations against Armstrong. These accusations included attending the 2020 hearing and potential connections to the Church of Scientology, a religious organization often linked with Masterson.
I, as a devoted follower, have noticed that the renewed remarks by Cedric Bixler-Zavala have stirred discussions about Armstrong’s past involvement in a court hearing. He alleged that Armstrong and her band were backing Masterson, which has added fuel to this ongoing debate.
Apart from his criticisms, he additionally questioned Armstrong’s reported connections with the Church of Scientology. He suggested that some members of this church had allegedly harassed one of the women who accused Masterson of rape. However, it’s important to note that Armstone has not specifically responded to these particular accusations yet.
Although Masterson wasn’t convicted based on Carnell-Bixler’s accusations, he was indeed found culpable for two charges of violent rape and received a sentence of 30 years to life in prison in September.
As a lifestyle authority, I find myself reflecting upon the recent uproar that surfaced shortly after Armstrong assumed the lead vocalist position for Linkin Park. Just last week, the band declared their return following a seven-year hiatus, which was initiated by the tragic suicide of Chester Bennington in 2017.
As a lifestyle expert speaking in my own voice, I’d like to express that, in light of recent events, I, much like Armstrong, am choosing to part ways with Masterson. To set the record straight, I want it understood that I unequivocally disapprove of the actions for which he was found guilty. My commitment remains steadfast in advocating for those who have been victimized, and I stand with them in their pursuit of justice.
