Jeremy Renner, known for his portrayal of Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is all set to make a comeback following his recovery from a serious snowplow accident. In an announcement, the actor confirmed that he will be back in action as Hawkeye for the upcoming season 2.
In my fangirl/boy excitement, I can’t help but share that during an interview with Empire, the Marvel superstar declared his body to be almost 150% back on track following the unfortunate incident. He’s raring to go for all the stunts and whatever epic adventures Marvel has up their sleeves for him!
Previously, it was disclosed that Renner was summoned again for Hawkeye’s second season, yet the producers only proposed a payment that was half of what he received in the first season. The actor hypothesized that this reduction might be connected to his past injuries and concerns about his physical readiness.
Jeremy Renner to return to Marvel
In a heartfelt sharing, Renner expressed his affection for the Marvel universe, stating, “I’m never tired of being part of that world. I have a deep admiration for everyone involved; I adore the character I portrayed in previous Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
He continued, “I’m confident we’ll move forward with Season 2 [of ‘Hawkeye’] and more projects. I’m eager to be a part of it. My physique is gearing up for such roles. Whether others want to see me in spandex or not, my body will certainly look good in them.
Although the creators haven’t given an official update about the next season of Hawkeye, the closing scenes of the initial episodes seem to suggest that the character Kate may assume the role and obligations in the future.
In addition to Renner, it’s anticipated that Hailee Steinfeild, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and some other cast members will be back for the upcoming season.
Jeremy Renner updates fans about his health
During an interview with a media outlet, Renner shared that he’s fully healed from the injuries sustained in the 2023 accident. He expressed this by saying, “With health and wellness playing such a crucial role in my life, it’s what helped bring me back.
As I grow older, I find myself becoming increasingly robust rather than weak. I do have some health issues, including problems with my tendons and limited range of motion, but I’ve dedicated significant effort to improving and strengthening myself, and I wouldn’t be doing so if I didn’t have to face challenges.
In relation to Marvel Studios, preparations are being made for the release of Avengers: Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as the antagonist, Dr. Doom.
