As a dedicated fan of DC Comics and the Dark Knight himself, I’m thrilled about the upcoming changes in the DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran’s leadership. The announcement of a new Batman movie titled “The Brave and the Bold” has sparked intense speculation among fans, and the casting for Bruce Wayne remains a hot topic.
James Gunn and Peter Safran, now in charge of DC Studios, have a full plate as they revamp the DCEU into the freshly announced DCU. Their schedule is packed with exciting plans, such as producing “The Brave and the Bold” Batman film.
Although there’s been plenty of buzz surrounding the upcoming “Superman” movie with its main roles filled and a new Supergirl revealed, the identity of who will play Batman in the DC Universe remains a secret. Rumors have surfaced occasionally, but nothing concrete has been confirmed yet.
Multiple fan-proposed candidates are making waves for the coveted role, including Alan Ritchson, Jensen Ackles, and Glen Powell. The latter’s potential casting as Batman has garnered significant support, fueled by intriguing clues shared on social media platforms.
Lately, the actor known for “Anyone but You” has started to follow James Gunn and Andy Muschietti on social media. James Gunn directs movies, and soon Andy Muschietti will be at the helm of the new Batman production.
“Glen Powell recently began following James Gunn and Andy Muschietti on social media. Could this mean he’s in the running for THE BATMAN: BRAVE AND THE BOLD role? #DCUniverse #Batman”

As someone who has been following the acting industry for quite some time now, I find it intriguing when an actor publicly expresses his preferences regarding certain types of roles. In the case of this particular actor, his disinterest in Oscar-bait films and superhero roles, specifically those in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), piqued my curiosity. However, his statement gains even more significance when we consider some comments he made a few months ago.
Growing up, I was always captivated by the dark and mysterious world of Batman. Unlike some fans who might have preferred the more light-hearted versions of the Caped Crusader, for me, it was all about the gritty, brooding intensity that Gotham’s protector exuded.
However, Powell has already had a minor role in one of the best Batman movies of all time:
I get my head smashed in by Bane in ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’
Currently, Powell is a top contender for becoming the next Batman in the DC Universe, although it may be some time before we officially find out.
