As a die-hard fan of Euphoria, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment and concern as I read the latest reports about the supposed tiff between Zendaya and Sam Levinson. This show has touched my heart in ways few others have, and I’ve grown attached to the characters and their stories. The thought of any potential delay or disruption to the production of season 3 is enough to make me feel uneasy.
Sam Levinson, the mind behind Euphoria, and lead actress Zendaya are reportedly clashing over the preparation for Season 3 of the hit show. As per The Hollywood Reporter’s sources, Zendaya is said to be displeased with Levinson for focusing on his new project, The Idol, instead of finalizing the script for Euphoria’s upcoming season. However, it was announced last month that the entire main cast will be back for Season 3.
In the second series of Euphoria, which debuted in 2022, a set of grown-ups navigated complex themes such as love, loss, and substance abuse. Among the principal actors are Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Barbie Ferreira, Alex Demie, Jacob Elordi, and Eric Dane, alongside others.
Media reports suggest a tiff between Zendaya and Sam Levinson
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, there’s a disparity in where the Marvel actress and the creator of Euphoria stand in terms of priorities. The creator, who is currently working on The Idol, is not reportedly giving equal attention to developing the script for the show.
According to news outlets, Zendaya requested a discussion with HBO bosses Casey Bloys and Francesca Orsi following reports of Sam Levinson’s involvement in other projects while Euphoria was under development. Since March 2023, the actress has expressed her displeasure over Levinson’s decisions during production of the other show.
After several months of reported tension between the main actors of Euphoria and its creator Sam Levinson, HBO’s executives attempted to resolve the issue by arranging a reconciliation meeting for them. But according to the news, Zendaya is insisting on bringing in additional executive producers besides Ashley, who is married to Sam.

What is Euphoria about?
Euphoria, a HBO series, explores the complex experiences of a teenage crew as they navigate the turbulent terrain of emotions like love, hate, heartache, and addictions. The show’s tagline describes their journey as one filled with substance use, romantic entanglements, social media pressures, and financial challenges as they forge their unique identities.
In 2019, the initial episode of the series debuted, followed by the second season being made available on the streaming platform in 2022. Several reasons account for the postponement of season 3, including a writers’ strike and the unfortunate passing of Angus Cloud.
Anxious fans are looking forward to the upcoming release of the new show season, but allegedly, the third installment of the series won’t premiere until late in 2025 according to recent news.
