As an ardent fan of Ellen DeGeneres, I must say her life journey has been nothing short of inspiring. From her humble beginnings to becoming one of the most renowned talk show hosts, she has always managed to captivate audiences with her wit, charm, and resilience.

Donald Trump’s election win has sparked a mix of positive and negative responses among citizens, including high-profile figures deciding to relocate abroad. Among them are Ellen DeGeneres and her spouse Portia de Rossi, who have chosen to reside in the English countryside, according to The Wrap.

According to reports, the couple is selling their Montecito home and currently have no intentions of revisiting or resettling in the U.S. A source close to Ellen’s talk show revealed that they informed friends that Donald Trump’s election served as the primary motivation behind this decision.

As per reports from The Warp, a source close to Ellen allegedly disclosed that the ex-TV host has relocated to the picturesque Cotswolds region, a rural area in South Central England. Furthermore, it was mentioned that her residence in Montecito, around 90 minutes away from Los Angeles, is either quietly on sale or will be put up for sale shortly.

In 2019, it’s said that the Montecito house was bought by Ellen, who later made plans to make this their primary home before relocating to the Cotswolds. At present, there’s uncertainty about the fate of their other properties located in Southern California.

Regarding her professional life, she appeared in a Netflix stand-up show titled “For Your Approval,” which she co-produced, discussing what she had been doing following the controversy. It’s important to note that Ellen DeGeneres encountered accusations about a toxic work environment on her talk show. These allegations resulted in online backlash and criticism from internet users.

She said that she started gardening, got chickens, and added, “Let me see what else I can tell you about what’s been going on… Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business… Yeah, the ‘be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.”

Ellen also mentioned, “If I had closed my show with the phrase, ‘Goodbye and may you all go have a wonderful day,’ people might be surprised to learn that I’m actually a kind person.

The standup special was released in September 2024, and it is available to be streamed on Netflix.
